Rey awoke with a start. She was in Ben's X-wing in hyperspace. What had happened? The battle. Snoke. Ben! He saved her.
"Oh, good your awake. We're almost there." They jolted out of hyperspace and landed near the base. "Let's get get you to medical, and then I need to go talk to my mother."
"Ben, I'm fine!"
"You were almost killed by one of the most powerful Sith in the galaxy. Please." Ben pleaded. Rey sighed and let Ben escort her to the medical bay.
An hour later Ben appeared in her room Rey's room. She sat on her bed her hair falling loose around her shoulders except for a single bun. Ben sighed. She had become his weakness and although it had allowed him to kill Snoke this time he was afraid of what kind of danger he would end up putting her in. He had to be a great Jedi like those before him, and that meant no attachments. "Rey, I can't continue to teach you as my padawan. I'm sorry." Rey stood up in shock.
"Ben, please don't leave me. I love you." Ben stood up and left her. Rey stood there in shock staring at where he was. Of course he walked away, he had responsibilities to his family and to the order. She was nothing more than his padawan.
Ben was so angry at himself. She loved him to, but those kind of feelings were wrong. Weren't they? Jedi were not allowed to have those kind of relationships, and yet the force had connected them in a new and mysterious way. Maybe for once it would be ok to break the rules.
Rey opened her door and let Ben into her room. "I'm sorry for what I said, and I understand if you don't-" Ben pressed his lips down hard against hers. Rey buried her hands in his hair deepening the kiss. In that moment they could both see each other's love and the fear they had of it. When they finally stopped they were gasping for air. "What do we do now?"
"I have no idea."
