As Ben landed on Exegol he looked up at the fleet above him hoping the Resistance had a plan. He ran out of his X-wing and into the caves of Exegol.
Rey sat on the throne waiting for him. He wasn't worth saving; this was where she belonged. Ben entered the throne room a thousand emotions rolling off him. She egnighted her saber and charged at him. He blocked the attack, pleading with her.
"This isn't you! No matter what you've been told, under that mask you're still the woman I married. Please come home." She stepped back removing the mask.
"That girl is gone. She was weak. I am so much stronger than she ever was!" Her eyes burned with fury.
"No. That's what he wants you to think." He pointed his saber at the creature standing behind her. "He is the real villain." Palpatine shrieked; shooting lightning at Ben. Suddenly everything clicked for Rey. She reached out with the force, searching for those she cared about. They were fighting the fleet overhead, and they were loosing. They were going to die. This was her vision, and it was all her fault. She looked at Ben, thrashing in agony. She was a monster. She raised her hand pulling a rock out of the cliff face, and ramming it into the Emperor's life support. Rey looked over to Ben, relived to see he was ok. She raised her hands to the sky releasing lightning onto the Sith fleet, but the power was too much. A wave of electricity erupted from her before she lost contentiousness.
When Rey came to, the entire caver was collapsing around her. Her ears were ringing. Ben was shaking her telling her to get up. She saw movement in the corner of her eye. She raised her saber against the sith lord, anger flowing through her.
"Yes. Strike me down! Fulfill your training!" Ben placed a hand on her shoulder.
"No. Rey, he's not worth it." Rey sighed. He was right. Palpatine wheezed before crumbling in to dust.
