Jungkook strongly held onto Minnie's hand as if the man was a balloon that could suddenly float away.
He and the filter strolled through the park as the full moon watched them from above, not saying much as they let the silence speak.
Jungkook would be lying if he said he wasn't extremely worried about Taehyung and Namjoon, but he couldn't go back to that godforsaken place. He had to get Minnie to safety and call the police the moment they were home.
The student glanced at Minnie, who kept his gaze set on the ground as he walked and looked like he felt extremely unneccesairy.
But Jungkook had strictly forbidden the filter to leave after he said they were going for a walk, so there he was, forced to participate in a peaceful evening stroll.
"Jin says you're usually out at night," Jungkook suddenly said, speaking up after a long period of silence. "Why is that?"
Minnie met Jungkook's eyes and maybe Jungkook was just seeing things, but for some reason they looked more alive than before.
"The dark is dangerous," Minnie simply said, before lowering his head again like a faithful servant.
"Why?" Jungkook asked, not exactly satisfied with the vague answer.
Minnie didn't meet Jungkook's stare this time and kept himself focused on the ground. "Because that's where the bad people hide."
Jungkook swallowed thickly.
It felt like he was cycling on the edge of the world and a single nudge could sent him falling into non-existence.
Had anyone gotten a hint to the truth like this before him?
"And what do the bad people do?" Jungkook asked, pretending like his heart wasn't drumming as if it was playing at a concert.
Minnie looked at the blossoming trees that were planted along their path. He seemed intrigued as if he'd never really even noticed what trees looked like up close, and it reminded Jungkook of what a tortured soul he really tried to save.
Minnie wasn't the type to ask questions. But tonight, he did, and Jungkook couldn't help but think it was progress.
"Why do you want to know?" He asked as kept looking at the trees, tensing and sniffing as if he was having a runny nose.
"Are you cold?" Jungkook asked immediatly, quickly undoing the buttons of his coat to give it to Minnie.
Minnie shook his head but his lips clearly trembled. "I'm not weak like the others," he said with clappering teeth. "You're acting like I'm weak."
Jungkook didn't pay any mind to Minnie's excuses and draped his coat over the boy right after taking it off.
"Being cold is not weak you idiot," he said, his lips edging up slightly at Minnie's cute blushed cheeks and pink nose.
Minnie looked up at Jungkook as if the man was an odd alien from a far and distant world. It seemed like everything he was doing was the opposite of what the boy was used to.
"But... you're cold now," he said softly, looking at the thin sweater that was the only thing that held Jungkook warm.
"You care?" Jungkook asked, smirking like he'd earned a small victory.
Minnie's eyes fell to the ground right away and he kept them there.
This is what he's ashamed of? Jungkook asked himself. He's fine with masturbating against someone but showing any normal care or concern was wrong?
Jungkook opened Minnie's coat again to the filter's suprise and tucked himself inside of it as well, sharing the coat with the other man with an amuzed grin.
