2: sunshine boy

You intently watch Kageyama as he throws the ball up in the air flawlessly, getting ready for a jump serve when you suddenly heard a shout coming from the outside of the gym.

"What the hell are you doing here?" An orange-haired boy says as you tilt your head. You zone out for a little bit as the short boy talked too fast.

"I couldn't forget you." Kageyama says as you get shocked at his words. Is he really that good? They continue their bickering until they finally have a proper conversation.

"What are you even doing here? Aren't there more powerful schools?" The orange boy, whose name is apparently Hinata Shoyou asks.

"The strongest school in the prefecture..."

"rejected me." Before Hinata could do anything, you bursted out laughing making the two suddenly pay attention to you.

"Oy, l/n-san. What are you laughing at?" Kageyama says looking down, blushing a little bit. You stood up from your seat at the bleachers and make your way down.

"I'm l/n f/n! Nice to meet you Hinata-kun!" You say as you take his hand and shake it. You check your watch and shriek as you see the time.

"I'm gonna have to see you again later then, Kageyama-kun! I have matters to discuss with the guidance counselor. Later, Hinata-kun." you say as you rush off.

"Guidance counselor? Is she a delinquent?" Hinata asks but before Kageyama could reply, they were greeted by their senpais.

—At the guidance office

"So, I see your conduct grade is very low and that's the reason why you didn't get accepted in your first choice of school?" The guidance counselor asks as you gulp.

"Yes."

"Your recommendation form from your old school contained... um... how do I say this... evidence?" Your hands grew cold and your knees went weak. You were just starting anew and it's your first day and you were greeted with this.

"You don't have to worry about it though. We are very considerate when it comes to these things. Our only requirement is for you to join a club. I heard the photography club is taking newbies. You should try!" The guidance counselor says as she guides you out of her office. You sigh deeply as memories of the past started to haunt you over again.

You make your way to the gym to see Kageyama and Hinata outside, talking to each other or well screaming at each other.

"Kageyama-kun! Sunshine boy!" You call out to them, Hinata blushing at the nickname you gave him.

"What the hell are you two doing here? It's chilly!" You ask while trembling to prove your point.

"Just wait and you'll see." Kageyama tells you as you watch them both and take a step back.

Suddenly, the door flew open revealing some volleyball players.

"We challenge you into a match!" They say as the older ones couldn't help but laugh. As much as you were enjoying the view, you had to go home and try to find a club. As soon as you turn, you bumped into someone. You quickly composed yourself, bowed and apologized many times.

"Ah no, it's alright." The soft voice says to you.

"I really am sorry."

"I'm Kiyoko Shimizu. Nice to meet you."

"Are you waiting for someone from the volleyball club?" she asks.

"Well, I was but I guess he's too busy so I'll just head home." you say as you start walking.

"Wait!" She says, making you stop.

"Would you consider being an assistant manager?" She asks you. If this were a normal day, you would laugh. You? An assistant manager? What type of fantasy is this? But right now, you were living in that fantasy.
