Second Chance - Chapter 11

The chemotheraphy session was painful , but I thank God that I have Dylan beside me to hold my hand and to kiss the pain away throughout the entire session.

Dr Brett was not optimistic about Ciara's condition and mentioned that the cancer cells are spreading at a very rapid speed around her body and she might have less than 4 months left to live. I felt the colour from my face drained away and was saddened profoundly by his affirmation. Ciara noticed the change in the atmosphere and my facial expression. Ironically, she muttered to herself, "I will give whatever it takes just to be with Dylan". Not knowing that Dylan has fantastic vampire hearing ability to pick up even very distance sound, Dylan whispered to himself " I will not let you die". Sensing Ciara's eyes on him, Dylan broke the ice and declared his love to her by saying that I will take whatever you got and spend every moment with you like there is no tomorrow.

After the session ended, I fetched Ciara home and informed her to rest and get herself ready for the evening. " I will pick you up at 6 tonight". I told her that I need to go home and get myself ready too.

I drove my maserati home and I can't help but feel like a happy camper. I felt a mixture of both excitement and nervousness as I intend to impress her and ask her to be my lover tonight.

Immediately an idea came floating across my mind, I quickly picked up the phone and dialled the number to a spanish restaurant. I was greeted by Peter, the owner of the restaurant who instantly recognized my voice as I  patronized his restaurant pretty often alone. I told him that I will be bringing a very special lady with me. He chuckled and said you finally found your soul mate? Peter is human but he has a close relationship with me and my family as his son works in the blood bank. He is aware of me being a vampire but I informed him that Ciara is still not aware of what I am and not to spill the beans to her. I have booked the entire restaurant, it will be solely me and Ciara except for Peter, his staffs and his musicians.

Time was catching up with me as I spent the rest of the day anticipating for the evening to come.

I took a shower and put on my white long sleeve tailor shirt , black tailor pants, with a maroon bow. I threw on my black double breasted tuxedo coat and combed back my wavy blonde hair that reaches just below my ears.

I decided to drive my bentley instead of other sports car so that it will be more comfortable and roomy for Ciara.

I drove to town to buy her a bouquet of flowers. I got her some purple roses with white lilies. Next , I headed to the swim wear shop and purchased a set of bikini that is white with blue , pink and yellow foral prints on it. I have the entire evening planned out.
