Second Chance - Chapter 24

Ciara, oh God, Ciara are you there??? I could hear the sound of slow breathing in my head, slowly the vision of Ciara tied down to the bed with chains flooded my head. It pains my heart to her delicate hands bruised by the rusty metal chains weighing her down. She must have been tugging at it , causing the bruises to form. Her eye lids flutter and I could see her in my vision , she is gaining conscience any moment. I kept calling out to her hoping that my voice can offer her some comfort.

In the distance , I heard the soothing voice of Dylan calling out to me and I struggled with my own body , wanting to open my heavy laden eyes . I tried to concentrate on Dylan's voice and alas I saw his face in my vision. He looks withered,  it is as if he hasn't been sleeping, my heart was filled with grieve upon seeing him in this state. I opened my mouth and tried to speak but felt the soreness in my throat , that woman has only given me a small amount of water every day and some soup. I am dying of thirst. I opened my mouth again to call Dylan. Dylan kept asking me if I can see any prominant landmark outside of the window. I sobbed and said no, all of a sudden, the ring shone again, I noticed that it shines everytime when I feel sad or threaten. Realization suddenly hit Dylan, the ring, Ciara the ring! Concentrate on your fear of being tormented by that woman, the ring should shine and offer you the light to analyse your surroundings. I did as I was told but I couldn't see anything except trees, wait a minute, I saw a huge mountain, Dylan.The mountain is not too far from the house that I am being held at. Ciara, try to point your ring towards the mountain, I will try Dylan. Dylan heard the clanging sound of metal chains tugging at the bed and saw it cut deep into Ciara's soft skin as she tried to raise up her hands to shine the ring at the mountain , dragging the chains to the maximum, she barely reached touching the window sill, when she heard Dylan's anguish cries on the other end. Stop pulling Ciara, you are hurting your hands. Ciara cried; Dylan look up , I managed to shine the ring at the mountain , but my vision doesn't allow me to see even in that short distance in the dark. Ciara, but I can , Dylan tried focusing on Ciara and looked at the direction where the ring was pointed to and an image of the mountain came floating into his mind. He saw water dripping down the mountain and he heard the swooshing sound of plunging water. Ciara, its a waterfall. The house is beind the waterfall, that is the reason why we were unable to locate you initally as we thouht that the waterfall was the end to the forest. Ciara, stay low, I will be there any minute now.

Our only problem lies with the six rogue vampires guarding the perimeter, if I were to materialized myself there , they will be alerted as they could catch my scent and feel a tinkling sensation. All vampires will be able to feel that when other vampires are about to materialize within their perimeter. I need to distract them. I called Derek and told him about my findings, he immediately gathered ten wolves and set off to distract and fight the rogue vampires. I sent a mind link to Keith and he gathered Luke and Jerediah my knights. Kelly wanted to come with us to provide assistance when dealing with Vivian, Vonda was needed back at the castle to build a realm of protection around it to prevent the rogue from following us when I bring Ciara back later. The five of us waited for the wolves to arrived at the scene to start the battle first before we dematerialize ourselves.

Derek and his packs shifted into their wolf form and ran into the forest, they caught the scent of the rogue vampires and the vampires immediately took on their battle positions. Derek pounced onto one of the vampires, bearing his fangs at him and with all of his strength, he bit into the flesh of the vampire who  let out a loud shrieking noise. He used his claws to tear into the wound that he bit into and ripped out the flesh of the vampire. Two other vampires were carefully observing the fight and lunged at Derek, but the wolf struggled to push the weight of the two vampires away from him. Three other wolves came by the side and tore the two vampires away from Derek by biting into their legs, with one wolf at each end, they tore the body of the two vampires apart, splitting it into two. The other three vampires were ambushed by seven wolves who snared at them. The wolves sprinted into the air and leaped onto the vampires and it was a wrestling battle of the fiercest. One vampire, knowing that they were outnumbered and sensing the chance of escape, pushed his two comrades towards the fangs of the wolves and quickly dematerialize from the forest. The air was filled with the howls of the wolves which signified the failure to annihilate all the rogue vampires.

I heard the wolves howling, which wasn't a good sign , it only meant that one of the vampires have escaped and that would mean that he will be returning to his master to inform him of the massacre of his warriors and the rescue plan. I definitely do not need more rogue vampires from deterring me from saving Ciara when I am already faced with a strong opponent  , Vivian in a matter of three seconds.

I materialized in front of Vivian's house together with Keith, Jerediah, Luke and Kelly. The look on Vivian's face was priceless,  it was like a bomshell hitting down hard on her when she saw us. How did you guys...??? Keith, Kelly, Luke and Jerediah ambushed her into a circle, while I slipped past them to go into the room to get Ciara.

Vivian unleashed her compelling force of fire which causes Keith, Luke and Jerediah to take three steps back. Kelly unleashed her force of fire too and tried to force it on to Vivian , hopping to wear her down while the vampires attack her from the back. The vampires stumbled backwards as her spell was too regnant for them.

Dylan used his sword and cut through the metal chains with all of his might. He scooped the semi conscious Ciara into his arms and send a mind link to Keith and get them all to dematerialize at once as Kelly couldn't hold out any much longer.

They dematerialize into the air. Vivian was one who doesn't give up easily, she dematerialize too taking off behind them towards the castle. They quickly materialized into the castle and Vivian found herself unable to enter the perimeter of the castle as a protective realm has been built up by Vonda, no one not belonging to the castle could enter it from the outside unless invited through the main door.

Damn you, Vonda!!!! I will not give up !!! She groaned in digust.
