Second Chance - Chapter 16

The moment I materialized into the hall of my castle, I felt an apprehensive tension disseminating from everyone in the room. I saw my father and mother sitting on their throne wearing a similar disturbed appearance on their faces.

My eyes immediately scanned the room and noticed that Keith, Derek, Vonda and Kelly were also in the room. I held my gaze at Kelly and went back to looking at Vonda and back to Kelly, then I noticed a resemblance between them. They are related. Vonda sensed the question popping up in my mind quickly made an introduction between Kelly and myself.  Vonda told me that Kelly is her daughter. I asked Kelly why I wasn't able to know her nature when I met her during both incidents, one at the club and the hospital. With that she gave me a small smile and retorted that she has the ability to temporarily block out all vampires from knowing her nature for a short time frame, once she has exceeded the time spent near any vampires, he or she will know her real nature. I nodded to that fact, and she went to ask me why she wasn't able to know that I am a vampire. Before I could answer to her question, her mother spoke on my behalf saying that their powers of sensing any vampires does not apply to the Royals.

With a long sigh, Vonda shaked her head in both of her hands and acknowledge all our presence and announced to all that she has seen a very disturbing scene in her crystal ball. She used her power to show us all the images that she has seen. I was terrified to see a black shadowy figure carrying Ciara in his arms, sinking his elongated fangs into Ciara's jagular and draining her dry and disposing of her lifeless body on the floor, the shadowy figure then gathered his minions and set out to take down our castle and there were bloodshed everywhere, in that horrible image, both the king and queen were slained by the shadowy figure and both Keith and myself were locked up in a dungeon , with no blood provided , we went into blood lust and died a slow and painful death. Derek and his entire pack, Kelly and Vonda all perished in that sanguinary battle. We saw the coronation of the shadowy figure, he became the king of the vampire race and the mythical world, but his heart is filled with greed and evilness, he allowed all the vampires to hunt down the humans for food and killed all the other mythical creatures. Very soon, he has annihilated all the species including the vampire race, as there were no more humans left and no blood left to sustain the vampires.

Everyone in the room held onto their breath and looked at one another with anxiety , until Vonda slowly released her breath and said, "Prince Dylan , you have to tell Ciara what you are soon and to inform her that she is the key to the salvation of all races." "The leader will not allow the prophecy to be fulfilled so easily, he will leave no stones unturn until he found Ciara and kill her before you could even changed her."  " You need to act fast".

The prophecy clearly showed that Ciara was born to be my soul mate , and once she is a vampire, both myself and her will be given two special abilities called gifts that no other vampire has ever been bestowed. With those gifts, we can destroy the mastermind and his minions and save all races. However before this could happen, I would need to do two things,  both Ciara and me needs to consummate our relationship to create our bond and to convert her into a vampire before she dies. The latter seems to be more of a challenging task , which I know I need to accomplish otherwise I will loose her forever. My mother sensing my thoughts, gently said to me, "my dearest son, you need to take big steps in life, you can't cross a chasm in two small jumps", with that she gave me a hug.

Vonda broke the silence and informed that the rogue's leader has already sent trackers to track down Ciara and they will launch an attack on her anytime and told me to be extra careful when I am out with her.

I shuddered at the thought of loosing Ciara forever, I informed the group that I had promised to bring her to the movies later. "Be safe", all of them muttered simultaneously.
