Second Chance - Chapter 25

I received a mind link from one of my minions informing me of the merciless massacre by the werewolves and a minute later my mobile reverberated furiously in my pocket. I took it out to see who the caller is and immediately swipe the answer button when I saw that it was Vivian. She was growling at the other end and her breath panting heavily , she has informed me that the foolish prince has successfully rescued that human. I let out a loud hiss that I am sure Vivian heard it too. 

Meet me at my house in two hours time , with that he pressed the cancel key and pushed the phone back into his pocket.

Dad, Mum, Vonda, please hurry, Ciara's health is deteriorating rapidly. Dylan's yelling could be heard in the hall as he materialized with a semi conscious Ciara in his arms. Michael, Tiffany and Vonda rushed out into the hall to witness the panicking group.

Dylan, what is wrong with her, asked Tiffany. Mum, I doubt that she is going to make it , cried Dylan.

Vonda interrupted and announced to Dylan, you need to change her now or you will loose her forever, you have no more time to waste, it looks to me that she is going to die anytime now.

Victor get Gracey, Sonia and Maryanne to come all at once , ordered Michael. A stunned Victor just stood his ground  instead of scurrying off with the King's order.  Prince Dylan, how did you manage to find her.

Before Dylan could answer, Michael's roaring voice boomed into the air, Victor now!!!!

Within seconds, the housekeepers were at the hall waiting for their instructions. Tiffany started giving instructions, Sonia you prepare two basins of warm water with a wash cloth , Gracey I want you to warm up ten packets of blood and pour them into a vacumn flask and bring a glass along and Maryanne I want you to gather as many thermal blankets as possible and warm clothings.

Dylan, carry her into your room now and get yourself ready for the change.

Keith, Jerediah and Luke, get the guards to watch the premises.

Dylan carefully laid Ciara down onto his bed, he gently brought her chin up and look her in the eye and mumbled a sorry for the pain and suffering that you have to endure for my sake  and he told Ciara that he will bite her now. The semi conscious Ciara just nodded her head.

Dylan lowered his lips onto Ciara's jagular and lick it gently before he felt his fangs elongated and he sink them into her, Ciara felt the surging pain flowing throug her entire body while she let out a loud shriek. Dylan felt a singe of pain in his heart upon hearing her scream and immediately brought his  arms up to  caress the sides of her hand  , hoping to soothe her. Dylan took his own wrist and bit it  and dripped his blood into the wound on Ciara's neck , making sure that sufficient blood has entered her blood stream through that open wound before he flickered his tongue over the wound to seal it back.  This is a crucial part of the transformation, if inadequate vampire's blood manage to enter the wound and merge with her blood , she may die in the process instead of turning into a vampire.

Sonia started to remove Ciara's dirty clothing and wipe off the dirt from her face, hands and legs  with the wash cloth. Gracey set the flask with a glass on a silver tray which she placed it at the bed side table. Maryanne brought with her a stack of thermal blankets and warm clothings. She quickly help Ciara put on the warm clothings and covered her with the blankets. The transformation process is both agonizing and torturous , with Ciara tossing and turning and going into fits as her body temperature starts to drop to an inhumanely low temperature. She started to shiver and break out into cold sweat, hence more blankets were added onto her. Dylan , Tiffany , Vonda and Kelly were all in the room , each taking turns to babysit Ciara. Dylan was beginning to feel edgy and worried hence he called out to Vonda, can you build up a protective realm around this room, just in case Vivan managed to break the spell and enter the castle.

Ten hours has past, fourteen more hours to go before Ciara wakes up to a new body. A loud knock on the door, together with Michael's booming voice startled them from their fatigued state. Michael marched into the room with rage clearly written in his eyes, Tiffany sensing something is amiss in her usually composed husband asked what is wrong honey? I just received a call from the police chief informing me that his officiers have found thirty bodies with two puctured holes in their necks and all of these bodies are drained out , no blood was found in the bodies or at the scene and there were thirty cases of missing persons all reported at  different stations this morning. Apparently, all these took place last night. The police chief was infuriated with their discovery as we had a social treaty with them that all vampires do not go around killing humans for blood, we purchased them and that is the reason why the blood bank was established in the first place. The rogue vampires are out there going against my law and if my speculation is right, they may have created more rogue vampires to launch an attack on us soon. I have promised him that I will personally see to it myself and revert with a satisfactory answer. Everyone mouth went ajar upon hearing the news.
