Second Chance - Chapter 17

I went into my room , as I was about to take a shower, I heard a soft knock on my door. It was Gracey, one of our servants. She brought four glasses of blood into the room. Without hesistation, I gulped down all the four glasses.  I didn't even know that I was famished and loosing my energy by not consuming blood for the past few days. I must have been overly engrossed in Ciara, I love her with all my heart and for all eternity. I informed Gracey to place an order for four hundered packets of blood from the blood bank. The blood bank is a place where the humans came voluntarily to donate their blood in exchange for money.

She was astonished by my huge order, but nodded without questioning and left my room. I need to stock up on our blood supplies as I would need the blood for Ciara when  I first convert her. She would require ten packets of blood every day intially for the first one week and then she will revert to the normal consumption of three packets that lasts for three days and she has the option of consuming daily or every three days.

I took a quick shower and changed into a wrinkled teal blue checkered shirt with navy blue jeans and blue leather shoes. Tonight shall be an important night , I will reval to her that I am a vampire.

I drove my lamborghini into town, I stopped by the florist to buy her a teddy bear carrying a dozen sunflowers. I hope that the sunflowers and teddy bear will help brighten up her day as I did noticed her slight unhappiness when I left earlier. I also hope that the flowers will help cushion off the impact when I reveal to her my true nature later.

I reached her apartment five minutes before four, I ringed the bell waiting for her to answer. The moment the door went opened, she leaped onto me, embraced me into a passionate hug and a deep kiss. " I miss you so much, Dylan" " I miss you too, my darling".

I realized that she was wearing a dark green v- shaped halter necked dress with a black leather jacket. She looks so beautiful even in this simple outfit.

When we arrived at her car park, she noticed that I was driving a different car. " This is the only car that you haven't seen, there shall be no more surprises".

" Where are we going for the movie"? I will be bringing you to Galaxy Drive In Theatre, and that is why I chose a convertible car which will give you a better screen view with the top down.

I drove onto the grass patch where the movie will be screening and parked in the centre. " What movie will we be watching" ? We will be watching Underworld Awakening. A movie about vampires and lycans (werewolves). "Oh ! I love watching movies about mythical creatures", she said. I raised my eyebrow when she said that. In the middle of the show, I felt Ciara leaned onto my chest as I take in her lovely rose scent and wrapped my arms protectively around her. I looked her into her eyes and pulled out the bouquet of flowers from the back seat and gave it to her. She gasped and said "thank you Dylan", I love you. I sighed and asked her "will you love me regardless of any reasons?" She looked a little puzzled at my question but was quickly overcome by happiness and muttered yes. I asked her what do you think of vampires? She looked at me with confusion and replied " they only exist in movies and fables." Before I could even open my mouth to speak, Keith sent me a mind link to say that the rogues are coming to get Ciara and that he should reached within ten seconds and Kelly is also on her way here.

I heard the rustling of bushes around us, ear piercing screams made by humans and cars speeding out of the grass patch for safety. I speedily pulled away from Ciara, turned my head back to my wheels, returned the roof top back to its original position and drove out with my fastest speed. Before I could reached the exit of the theatre , I felt a weight on my roof top and claws trying to rip it apart.

I instantly knew that it was Nigel on top of my car as I had seen him draining Ciara dry in my dreams. His sharp claws managed to make a small hole in my roof top and he peered in staring at Ciara venomously , baring his fangs and hissing at her.
