☆ ☆ ☆The first time Jisung woke up he thought he was in heaven.
He was gripping onto something, but couldn't see sound of people shuffling around him filling his ears. He could smell though and what he smelled seemed to be a hospital.
He fell back asleep.
The second time he could see.
There were nurses monitoring them, he had a hospital gown on and wires monitoring his breathing. He heard the soft beeping of two monitors and tried to see what he was so desperately holding.
"Stay still," the nurse said as she got up from her chair and helped raise his bed up.
Jisung then looked down and inhaled sharply at the sight.
There was Heiryung, a oxygen mask on her along with a plethora of wires. Her face had cuts and a large bruise on her cheek. She was pale.
Jisung was holding her hand.
He fell back asleep refusing to let her hand go.
The third time was when Heiryung's heart monitor began going crazy.
He woke up to see a ton of doctors and nurses flooding the room.
Heiryung's eyes were wide open and she was gasping, her chest rising and falling each breath she took causing Jisung to want to panic with her.
The doctors ripped their hands apart, Jisung groaning with the loss of contact. He wanted her hand back. He needed her hand back.
The anesthesiologist then replaced the oxygen mask with a small gas mask to put her to sleep.
Jisung's hand slowly intertwined with hers as the doctor blocking him moved around.
"Oh the boys awake," the doctor said as he noticed Jisung's worried eyes scanning Heiryung's sleeping body.
The nurse anesthetist glanced at him before smiling. She was taking out several wires so that Heiryung only had the IV, a heart monitor, and the oxygen monitor.
"Should we move him to her bed," the nurse anesthetist asked the doctor who turned his attention back to her.
The doctor looked back at Jisung then Heiryung and nodded.
"Don't struggle kid," he said as a couple of people came in and helped transfer Jisung over next to Heiryung.
He felt his body relax as he turned his head to look at her. Their hands still intertwined Jisung fell asleep again.
The forth and last time was when he felt his hand twitch. It wasn't his own hand twitching though.
Heiryung was awakening.
Opening his eyes his arm was wrapped around her waist, his face laying on her hair and his forehead pressed against her cheek. He was laying on his side while Heiryung was laying flat on her back. Her hand was laying straight down and his arm and hand followed so he could hold her hand.
The fluttering of his lashes against her skin continued to be a motivation for her to wake up.
She had dreamt of nothing but a playground with Jisung holding her in between his legs and against his chest as she sobbed into him.
Were they dead?
All she could think was that she let everyone she loved down.
She died and wasted Jisung's life.
Tears formed in her eyes, she wanted to move but it seemed like a pressure was holding her down. The tears streamed down her face until a hand came from across her body and wiped it away.
"Heiryung," a voice said making her open her eyes wider. "It's ok. We're ok. I promised I'd be there didn't I?"
And there he was.
In the same hospital bed as her, wearing matching hospital gowns, having a singled IV entering the top of his hand, there he was.
"Jisung?"
