Heiryung had decided it was about time that Meirong had met the rest of Dream. So she had dragged the girl out of bed and told her to get dressed cause she was going to meet some idiots.

Now that she was standing outside their door, she wasn't so sure it was actually a good idea.

Ruckus coming from inside the apartment could be heard from outside and both girls had the urge to run away before they could open the door Heiryung had just knocked on.

It was, of course, too late.

Jaemin swung open the door, nearly clipping Heiryung's nose off, Meirong wanting to shrink back into the T-shirt she was wearing.

"You must be Meirong," he smiled, Heiryung wincing at her best friend's uncomfortable facials.

"No shit," she blurted out, Jaemin being taken aback.

"Don't mind her," Heiryung smiled, "she's excited to meet everyone!"

Jaemin gave her an unsure glance before letting the two girls inside.

Heiryung went straight to the couch, still feeling a bit uncomfortable with the idea of soulmates. Maybe it'd be better for them to become friends instead.

She was snapped out of her thoughts when Chenle and Jisung came down stairs, Jisung glancing at her before shyly looking away.

"So this is Meirong," Heiryung smiled and gestures to the girl.

"Sup'."

Renjun smiled and pulled her in for a hug.

"She's from Shanghai as well, Chenle," he said.

"Oh really," he smiled, "I'm from Shanghai as well!"

"Oh cool," she smiled.

Heiryung on the other hand froze in mid thought.

"Hey," Jisung said glancing at Heiryung's thoughtful figure.

"Oh hi," she said, "how's it going... ya know not being a criminal."

Jisung grimaced before sitting down.

"It's going good," he said, "I'm thinking of trying out at an entertainment company."

Heiryung nodded.

"That's good," she said, "for... dancing, right?"

Jisung nodded, the awkwardness overwhelming them.

"Have you talked to Mark at all," Jisung said glancing at her.

Heiryung glanced around her folded hands before shaking her head.

"Last we talked he was going to visit Canada and talk to his mom," she said, "well, our mom."

Jisung watched her squirm.

"She doesn't have to be your mom if you don't view her as such," he said, "if she wasn't a mom for you, you don't have to say she is."

Heiryung glanced back up at him and nodded.

"Yeah," she said, "it just feels weird and complex."

Jisung nodded.

"Yeah this whole thing was complex I mean," he said, "I don't think it will stop being different."

Heiryung smiled.

"That reminds me of something my therapist said," she laughed.

"Oh please tell me you aren't gonna start going 'My Therapist'," Haechan said walking into the room with a soda.

Heiryung smiled and mimicked him before carrying on.

"Kun said something like, 'Just because things could've been different doesn't mean they'd be better.' If really got me thinking."

Jeno sat down as Meirong and Renjun continued to talk, Chenle listening intently.

"About what," Jeno said.

"About how my mom and brother could've stayed, but it wouldn't have helped my dad's behavior," she said, "about how my mom and brother could've left, but my dad been good. They still would've been gone. And if I didn't have those issues I'm sure I would still have others."

Jaemin nodded.

"That's very smart," he said, "does it help?"

Heiryung smiled.

"It really does," she said, "I think it's cause I have a more cynical way of thinking, so thinking cynically, but in a way that makes me put things into perspective really helps."

"Huh," Jisung said, "that would've probably made me sad."

"Jisung everything makes you sad," she deadpanned.

"Not true," he yelped.

"I saw you crying over the watermelon you dropped while trying to get it out of the fridge yesterday," Chenle interrupted.

"HEY, YOU SAID WE WOUDLN'T TALK ABOUT THAT!"

The living room broke out into laughter, Heiryung feeling more at home with the boys, and Meirong feeling as if she found some new friends.

It was perfect.
