The two teens had just decided to walk the streets, doing whatever they felt like at a chosen moment. Currently it was to go by a good stand and practically buy it out.

"Are you seriously going to eat all of that," Heiryung asked, the one kabob in her hand seeming sad compared to the five Jisung held, minus the one in his mouth.

"Yeah," he mumbled as he tossed the wooden stick into the garbage and started eating another one.

Heiryung frowned before grabbing one out of his hands.

"Hey," he shouted as she began to eat.

"That was mine!"

"And so were the chips you have shoved into your back pocket."

Jisung huffed, knowing that Heiryung was right and even if she wasn't there really wasn't to be any use arguing. It was her birthday anyways.

The two moved on, conversations of the beginning of school, Meirong's birthday, music, and other things.

"I got into the competition by the way," Jisung finally said glancing up to see Heiryung's reaction.

She paused, her hands skimming over the denim jacket.

"That's really great Sung," she said, "that's what you wanted... right?"

He nodded, his hands fiddling with the ring on his index finger.

"Then why do you sound upset," she asked turning around.

"My parents are refusing to get me there," he said, "so I might not be able to participate-"

"Bull," Heiryung interrupted, "Johnny or Ten can get you there, and if not probably Taeyong or Doyoung, hell even Jaehyun. What about Jungwoo, he's Eunhye's cousin remember?"

Jisung paused.

"You think they would help me out?"

"Yeah didn't you know," she said, "Ten and Taeyong used to dance together!"

"Wait really," he said turning to look at Heiryung.

"Yeah," she nodded, "they're like... phenomenal."

"I'll talk to Ten later then," he said, paused to look at the time on his phone, and looked back up.

"I think we should head back."

"What it's only 3?"

"Yeah," he said, "but it's your birthday and maybe Johnny and Ten want to celebrate."

She hummed.

Now that Heiryung had thought about it, she really hadn't discussed her birthday much. It wasn't something she was used to celebrating with others. Her dad would act extra nice that day of course and buy her a cupcake and/or a weird T-shirt, but that was the extent.

The two headed back to her apartment complex, Jisung's fingers drumming against his legs out of nervousness. Finally they reached her apartment, Heiryung taking out the house key and opening the door.

Only to be welcomed with absolute silence and darkness.

"Yo what the fu-"

"SURPRISE!!!"

Chenle and Meirong leapt up from their hiding spot behind the kitchen island, the others turning on the lights and getting up from the floor.

Tears immediately sprung to Heiryung's eyes as Mark grabbed the cake and lit the candles, Taeyong even being there.

People she hadn't talked to in a while such as Jaehyun and Doyoung were there as well, her brother there. Dream was all there along with Noeul who was prettier in person. Eunhye and Jaehwa were even there.

Jisung awkwardly wrapped an arm around her shoulders as she clapped her hands, not knowing what else to do with them.

Maybe she had more people in her life than she realized.

"Heiryung open my present," Jaemin cheered as he rushed forward to hug her.

"I think mines clearly gonna be the best," Haechan bragged, "I mean it's from me."

Mark smiled as he saw the happiness in his sister's face. He knew that it wasn't the fact that people were celebrating her, it was the fact that she was able to know how much she was loved.

"Uh mom's present is on the coffee table by the way," he said nudging her.

She smiled and pulled away from Jaemin.

Heiryung didn't care about the presents or the cake, she appreciated them, but they weren't a big deal.

She cared about the family she had made.
