Lisa was ready to go at the function hall on where the ceremony will be happening. Her eyes scanned for Irene but there are too many people scattered around. Wendy was nowhere to be found too, maybe they got stuck outside. There was still nothing to worry about since they have thirty minutes remaining before the program will formally started.
Of all the college students that was there, Joy might be the happiest. After years of failing and shifting courses it has come to an end. She realized she can still showcase her talent outside the campus and make it a living.
"Damn it! I'll stand at the stage for like a minute just to take tons of selfie, eomma would tear up for sure" Joy said finding a good angle on her phone.
"Tear up because of embarrassment" Jisoo continued. Joy just glared at her.
"Did you saw Irene?" Lisa asked, although she was certain Irene would come, the uneasiness invades her body at the thought of Irene ditching her.
"Calm down Lisa, maybe she's with Wendy. I, myself, haven't saw my mom too." Joy said.
"Joy's right. The guardians and parents were asked not to come with us unless the ceremony is over but they are allowed to come a little closer when it's our turn on stage" Jisoo said calming Lisa a little bit.
"Thanks guys, I just have this little paranoia in my head" Lisa chuckled.
"You look so beautiful Lisa" Joy complimented when she saw Lisa's dress and necklace. Lisa just playfully winked at her.
"Fall in line base on your surnames! Five minutes then we're going down at the hall" The staff said and students quickly obliged with smiles on their face.
An hour had passed, Lisa haven't seen Irene's shadow. Lisa kept rubbing her palms out of nervousness. Luckily, Joy was beside her and helped her not to lose her sanity.
"Lisa calm down, I haven't saw eomma too. They're just around. Is just that there are too many people here" Joy said squeezing Lisa's shoulders.
"Yes, I'm trying Joy" Lisa chuckled.
"I'm sorry to ruin it, but you know. Maybe Irene has a planned surprise for you and she wants a grand entrance. We can't really tell on what's going on in that grandmother's brain" Joy said and it made Lisa released a soft giggle.
"Lastly, the students from College of Business and Accountancy taking up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Batch 2020 ..." The emcee said and Lisa's classmates immediately stood up to fall in line towards the stage. Some of the parents started to come closer.
"Mom! Dad!" Joy said when she saw her mom and dad on which she gave a huge hand wave to notice her. Lisa can't help but to laugh at how Joy looked so cute.
Lisa saw Jisoo's mom, Chaeyoung's mom and her other friends' parents too. She can't hide the fact that she envies her friends for having atleast one family. Her mom and dad could have been here too. A bitter smile formed on her lips. Atleast, I have Irene and she is more than enough. She said on her thought.
It was almost Lisa's turn to move up at the stage but she was still looking for Irene. No trace of Irene could be seen. She wanted to see Irene first before she received that diploma. She wants to see Irene's reaction. Does she will look proud? Happy? Excited?
But how can she witness Irene's reaction when the latter was not showing herself in the first place. Lisa became more observant, maybe Irene was just being squeeze into that pool of people because of her height. Lisa scanned the place once again with a raging heart from nervousness.
