Mal’dar

“You did well,” said Pre Vizsla.

Mal’dar shrugged his helmed head cocked slightly at Vizsla, “They walked into the trap”.

“But you failed to kill any Jedi,” said Vizsla his voice taking a dangerous tone.

Mal’dar nodded and shifted slightly in his seat, “I would have if not for the clones. From what I heard you lost in single combat to a Jedi”.

Vizsla spun on Mal’dar and pointed his finger in Mal’dar’s face. “You failed and if you hadn’t then Mandalore would be ours! Failure is not tolerated!”

Mal’dar looked at Vizsla coolly, “Then why didn’t you kill yourself?”

Vizsla flinched and then swung his fist at Mal’dar.

Mal’dar leaned back in his chair and the punch missed him. He had a pistol in his right hand and with his other, he reached over and poured himself a drink. “You fail again,” he said.

Vizsla rubbed his teeth together, “Don’t forget that I am the leader of Death Watch, not you!”

“I never wanted to be part of your cult, I just wanted justice,” said Mal’dar.

Vizsla snarled at Mal’dar and thrust his finger towards the exit, “Go talk to Bo-Katan she’ll find you a mission, just get out of my sight”.

Mal’dar stood up and walked out. He quickly found Bo-Katan who was ordering around soldiers whom she thought were being lazy. “Cousin,” said Mal’dar.

Katan turned her attention from the soldiers to Mal’dar. “Ah Mal’dar I heard you did well”.

“Vizsla didn't agree with you,” said Mal’dar.

Katan shrugged, there wasn’t much she could do about that. “Come to cry about it?”

“No, I’m here for a mission,” said Mal’dar.

Katan nodded, “Good. You know if just a handful of these punks were like you we would have Mandalore”.

Mal’dar answered the compliment with a few seconds of silence, before asking: “So do you have a mission?”

Katan nodded, “Plenty, but I have one that will be perfect for you”.

    “Which is?”

“We need fuel, we had to leave a lot behind on Concordia. So you're going to get credits for our fuel,” said Bo-Katan.

“Why not just steal fuel?” asked Mal’dar.

“Good question,” said Bo-Katan. “The Republic isn’t doing that great on fuel either and the Separatist isn’t going to give us any. But some people are selling though it’s at extremely high prices”.

“Why not steal it from a depot or while it’s being transported?” asked Mal’dar.

Katan scoffed, “Smart but they're ahead again. The fuel is under military escort or guarded by bounty hunters depending on who’s doing the shipping”.

    “Figures,” sighed Mal’dar.

“So we want you to bring us money and we’ll buy the fuel,” said Bo-Katan.

“What did you have in mind for getting that much money?” asked Mal’dar.

Bo-Katan grinned, “The Separatist have a bounty, million credits for a Jedi head”.

Mal’dar nodded slowly, “I can do that”.
