Mal'dar

Mal'dar walked into Pre Vizsla's tent, "Why didn't you answer our call?"

"I was busy," said Vizsla, "Now have you made a decision?"

"Only a week has passed," said Mal'dar.

Vizsla glared at him, "How hard is it to decide?"

"Hard enough that I'll use all two weeks," stated Mal'dar.

Vizsla sighed, "Fine but you have another mission".

"What is it?" asked Mal'dar.

Vizsla activated a hologram and a Neimoidian's face appeared, "This is Kef Otap, he's a high ranking Trade Federation official".

"What do you want me to do?" asked Mal'dar crossing his arms.

Vizsla pressed another button on the projector and the image changed to a mansion, "This is his home, there's a safe in the basement your going to steal it, don't open it. He's having a thing of some kind so he should be busy".

"Do I need to know about anything in there?"

"No, but it is an extremely high tech safe you can't just blow it or cut through it".

Mal'dar shrugged, "That's fine, but I'll need a hand can I take Rimi?"

Vizsla shrugged, "Up to her".

"Thanks," said Mal'dar and walked out of the tent. He quickly found Rimi at a target range.

"I got another mission you up for it?" asked Mal'dar.

Rimi turned to him, "Where are we going".

"Cato Neimodia," said Mal'dar.

Rimi scoffed, "You sure know how to show a girl a good time".

Mal'dar heart skipped a beat, he quickly looked at her and replied, "Well I'll keep trying".

Rimi cast him a long look before saying: "Well let's go".

The pair walked to Abam and quickly set a course for Neimodia.

"So what's this event?" asked Rimi as they walked through the small town outside of Kef Otap's palace.

"I don't-," Mal'dar froze his gaze locked onto a poster, "This will be interesting".

"What?" said Rimi her gaze following his own and locking onto the poster. "Crap," she said glaring at the sign which read Kef Otap's Ball.

"Could be worse," said Mal'dar his voice gaining an octive.

"How exactly?" asked Rimi tersely.

Mal'dar shifted his weight from foot to foot, "Not sure, but it could".

Rimi stormed off muttering under her breath. Mal'dar sighed and followed her, this trip was going very well. "Rimi I have an idea to get inside".

"What's that?" she snapped.

Mal'dar flinched but continued, "What if we...".

"Well spit it out," said Rimi gesturing for him to continue.

Mal'dar sighed, here it goes he thought. "We could pose as husband and wife and to pass ourselves off as business owners. Then we could talk our way in with some credits," said Mal'dar his throat tightening with every word.

Rimi cocked her head at him and examined him for several seconds before declaring, "Ok".

Mal'dar eyes widened and his heart did a cartwheel. "Ok," he echoed.

Rimi scoffed, "Come on lets scout this palace then buy any equipment we'll need".

Mal'dar nodded and was very glad for his helmet, for he was grinning and blushing furiously. "Makes sense".

"Good thing you came up with that plan," said Rimi as she looked through binoculars.

Mal'dar held out his hand and she passed them. Mal'dar observed the palace, it had four anti-air turrets surrounding it and the only other way in was a long bridge lined with guards.

"Good thing these guys are greedy," muttered Mal'dar.

"Don't suppose you have an for what to once we're inside?" asked Rimi sarcastically.

"Shoot our way to the safe," said Mal'dar with a shrug.

Rimi shook her head, "They'll be too many guards".

"Do you have an idea?"

"Yes, we sneak our way down to the safe room and you cut it open with a lightsaber, then we run".

Mal'dar shook his head, "Vizsla said don't open it".

Rimi scanned the mansion once more, "I think I have an idea, but we'll need a pilot".

"I'll find one, can come you up with a Plan B?" asked Mal'dar.

"I'll come up with a Plan D," said Rimi.

Mal'dar strode through the streets when he suddenly felt a hand brush up against him and a slight clink.

His hand shot out and he grabbed a man's shirt. The man spun towards Mal'dar wide-eyed. "Your one of the only humans in this town and you don't think that you'll stand out when you steal my credits," snarled Mal'dar his grip on the man's bright yellow shirt tightening. The man was quite young, little more than a boy. He had thick curly black hair and dark skin.

The man raised his hands, "You must be mistaken, I would never steal your credits though you'd be interested in a game of Sabacc".

Mal'dar upholstered a blaster and leveled it at the man's face. "Credits".

"Sir-" began the man.

Mal'dar shoved the blaster in the man's face, "I won't ask again".

The man slowly reached down and he pulled out Mal'dar credit purse.

Mal'dar let go of the man's shirt and took the credits. "What's your name?" he asked.

The man smiled again, "Lando Calrissian, the best pilot in the galaxy at your service".

Mal'dar regarded him skeptically, "The best pilot in the galaxy".

Lando smiled, "Yes of course".

"Then why are in the cesspool picking pockets?" asked Mal'dar.

Lando's grin grew, "Well you see I have fallen on some bad luck, though perhaps you are looking for a pilot?"

"A real one," scoffed Mal'dar turning away.

"I can anything anywhere, through anything," said Lando jogging beside Mal'dar.

"You ever been shot out boy?" asked Mal'dar standing over him.

"On several occasions," said Lando his arms and grin spreading out.

Mal'dar looked at him, "Just point me to a real pilot".

"Look no further," said Lando.

Mal'dar sighed, before looking around. "Tell you what I'm camped at coordinates 77-83, if you can get there before me," Mal'dar pulled out enough credits to rent a cheap speeder, "then your hired".

Lando grinned accepting the credits, "You sir, have yourself a deal".

Mal'dar looked down on the marshy forest as he jetpacked towards a clearing a few clickers from their camp, which was the true coordinates he gave Lando. He decreased his altitude and landed on the outskirts of the clearing. He looked around the clearing and scoffed, of course, the fool wasn't here he probably took the money and ran.

"Your late," rang out a voice.

Mal'dar spun around and saw Lando leaning up against a crappy speeder, "So do I get the job?" asked Lando.

Mal'dar opened his mouth before closing it again before finally answering, "A deal is a deal".
