Mal'dar
The pair jetpacked to the Death Watch camp, where Pre Vizsla watched them land. “So you’re the person I’ve heard so much about, nice to meet you,” he proclaimed.
“We’ve met,” stated Mal’dar cooly.
Death Watch soldiers were beginning to gather around them as the air grew tense. Everyone knew something was on the verge of happening.
“I think I’d remember meeting someone with the steel in them to work on their armor for four days. Most people spend a day or two but you spend four days with almost no sleep, that is impressive,” said Vizsla admiration slipping into his voice.
“It was ten years ago,” said Mal’dar.
A murmur ran through the crowd as they began exchanging theroies on who he was.
Vizsla looked at the sky as he thought about who might stand in front of him, “You would have been a child, perhaps I know your parents”.
Mal’dar took off his helmet and stared at Viszla, eyes ablaze. “I am Mal’dar Kryze son of Aitin and Sarna Kryze”. Mal’dar felt empowered by every word he spoke, and it was magnified as understaning and horror covered Vizsla’s face. Mal’dar’s muscles had lost their soreness from four days of shaping and hammering metal, his eyelids no longer carried the weight of four days without sleep. Rather, he was filled with a resolve as strong as beskar. A resolve that can only come from ten years of pain, ten years of grief, ten years of sorrow, ten years of hatred. Mal’dar spoke clearly, his mind focused and clear. “I Mal’dar Kryze challenge you, murder, to single combat”.
The shock vanished from Vizsla’s face and a cruel smile slowly replaced it. He turned to a Death Watch soldier, “In my office there is a beskar saber, bring it to me”.
The soldier nodded and ran towards the office.
Vizsla turned back to Mal’dar,”Alright I’ll make you a deal. We fight to third blood and if you defeat me then you will have your father’s saber, and I shall admit that I was wrong to challenge him,” Vizsla’s eyes were alight with excitement. “But if I win then you join Death Watch”.
“Why do you want me here?” asked Mal’dar a note of disgust slipping into his voice.
“You’ve impressed me,” said Vizsla.
Mal’dar mulled over for a few second before answering, “Deal”.
