Mal'dar

"Come on, get on the ship," snapped Bo-Katan her helmet resting in the crook of her arm.

Mal'dar sighed, "What's the point, it'll just be a waste of fuel".

"We're going, call a date with your girlfriend if it makes you feel better," said Bo-Katan putting on her.

"I'm not his girlfriend," commented Rimi who was sitting a short distance away cleaning her blaster.

Mal'dar winced, wearing a helmet all the time isn't all that bad he thought.

Bo-Katan scoffed, "Just remember to get the gifts off the ship when we land" and walked away from the pair towards the ship.

"Do you want to come?" asked Mal'dar looking at Rimi.

Rimi stared intensely at her weapons, "Uh sure, though I'm not holding the thing".

"I hear the thing is a her," said Mal'dar standing up.

"And," said Rimi standing.

They walked side by side towards Abam which had a small layer of snow on it. "Why no don't you like babies?" asked Mal'dar.

Rimi looked at him sharply, "What?"

Mal'dar shrugged, "Well people say their great, I've never dealt with one but..." he paused and sighed.

"You assume that I have because I'm a woman?" asked Rimi sharply.

Mal'dar shot up his eyes wide behind the T-Shaped Visor, "What no!"

"That's what it sounded like," said Rimi her voice taking on a dangerous tone.

"No I just figure that you must have had, well not had but dealt with one while in The Tribe," stammered Mal'dar squirming as he felt Rimi's eyes burning glare through her helmet.

"Yes I did, and I didn't like it," said Rimi definitively.

Mal'dar nodded meekly, "Okay".

Bo-Katan stood on the stairs that lead into Abam and looked from Mal'dar to Rimi, "You two had better not make this flight a living hell".

"It's settled," said Rimi.

Mal'dar nodded.

"Not dating," scoffed Bo-Katan with a shake of her head as she turned and walked into Abam.

Abam hurtled through hyperspace, and it's three occupants each tending to a chore. Mal'dar sat in the pilot seat checking everything repeatedly so he wouldn't have to go back to the passenger area. Rimi and Bo-Katan both worked on their weapons sitting on opposite sides of the ship.

Bo-Katan leaned over to make sure than Mal'dar was occupied, then she looked at Rimi whose blaster was shining brightly. "Thank you," said Bo-Katan.

Rimi looked up at the other woman sharply, "What for?"

Bo-Katan looked over at Mal'dar again who was continuing to check the instruments. "You've helped him, he's alive again".

Mal'dar froze as he overheard the statement by his cousin, and he hurriedly went back the instruments heart hammering. He adjusted one of the twin antennae on his com amplifier that doubled as a hearing enhancer before attempting to pay attention to the ship which was on autopilot.

"I don't know what you mean," said Rimi avoiding Bo-Katan's gaze.

Bo-Katan walked over to Rimi and sat down in the seat next to her, "He was dead inside for a long time, I don't think he would have flinched if he were shot or protested at a suicide mission. But since he met you he's alive, so thank you for helping my kin".

Rimi looked up at Bo-Katan, "I don't know, when I'm around him-"

Bo-Katan pressed a finger up to where her mouth would be on her helmet and with her other without looking pulled out a pistol and shot at Mal'dar. The yellow blaster bolt struck the listening and com enhancer with a loud clang and Mal'dar grabbed his helmet as the sound of the blaster bolt echoed in his head. The echo in his helmet slowly faded and Mal'dar felt around where the blast hit. The com and hearing enhancer on that side was essentially gone and there was a large dent. He sighed, that was going to take a while to fix. He grabbed a toolbox and, seeking solitude so as not to show his face, headed towards the bathroom glaring at his cousin as he did.

Bo-Katan gave him a smug grin as he walked by while Rimi looked from one to another in surprise. Bo-Katan turned her attention back to Rimi as soon as Mal'dar was in the bathroom, "Just wanted to say it".

Mal'dar had removed what little had remained of the com amplifier and mostly gotten the dent out as he remerged to land Abam on Krownest. A voice came over the coms as they neared the snowy planet, "Who are you and what are you doing here?"

"Rimi Jyrr along with Mal'dar and Bo-Katan Kryze to congratulate Ursa Wren," said Mal'dar.

"You may land," said the voice

Mal'dar piloted the ship through the crystal clear skies of Krownest and onto the landing platform. Mal'dar and Bo-Katan walked out each with a box and Rimi followed just behind them.

Mandalorians in white armor patrolled the ground outside of the stronghold and stood guard just outside of it as well. They were allowed inside and walked to a large back room, there Ursa sat up in a bed, a baby in her arms.

Ursa looked up at them briefly, "Come in".

The trio walked in looking at the baby who was swaddled in a blanket with the skull of the mythosaur on it. Alrich, Ursa's husband stood off to her side gazing down at the swaddled child in pure love.

"She's beautiful," said Bo.

Ursa nodded, not looking away from her daughter, "Her name is Sabine Wren".

Bo-Katan flinched, "That's awfully close to..."

Ursa looked at Bo-Katan and nodded before gazing back down Sabine, "Yes it is, but there is no reason to respect an enemy who is decent".

Bo-Katan nodded, but she stayed silent her eyes far away.

"We brought gifts," said Mal'dar. He set down his box by a pile which had already established its self in the corner of the room. Bo-Katan quickly followed doing the same.

"Thank you," said Alrich bowing his head to them. "I hope that you will be staying for the feast tonight".

"Of course," said Bo-Katan.

But neither heard her, both only looked down at the sleeping Sabine.

Mal'dar stood outside of the stronghold, he leaned against the railing Rimi doing the same on a separate section of railing. "Glad you came?" she asked.

Mal'dar nodded looking out at the frozen lake, "Yeah, it's been nice".

Neither spoke for a couple of seconds, then: "How long until we go back?" asked Rimi.

Why does she want to leave, is me? thought Mal'dar. "Well between a snowy planet and snowy planet I think I'll stay put for a couple of days, would you like to stay," said Mal'dar glancing at Rimi to judge her reaction.

Rimi laughed, the sweet sound echoing across the snow-covered landscape. "You don't think we'll be missed back at camp?"

Mal'dar shrugged, "I don't think they'll have anything to say about it".

Rimi looked over at Mal'dar, "I'm curious what do you want to do when the war is over?"

Mal'dar looked out at the frozen lake, "I don't know, maybe a bounty hunter. Maybe I'll find a planet and hideout," he slapped the rail, "Seems pretty nice".

Rimi gazed at the lake, "Yeah seems pretty nice".
