We're all at our designated table when Jennie and her dad arrived as they laugh at something. They seem really happy and I can't help but to smile as well. Jennie was about to lead her dad to the small platform but Jennie's dad swerve to our direction making us all stand up. He roam his eyes around our group of friends and his eyes stop on me.
"Lisa" he said happily making me smile
"happy birthday Mr. Kim" I said as he engulf me in a warm tight hug
"you don't really change do you?" he said chuckling as he pat my back softly before pulling away from our hug and greeting everyone else on our table "Rosie I didn't know you have the same clear vision like Jennie" he said looking at Jisoo which is basically praising Jisoo's beauty. Jisoo and everyone else greeted Mr. Kim before he put his gaze on me again "let's catch up later, yeah?" I nodded and smile at him while Jennie's looking at us with a smile on her face.
They walk towards the center while everyone take their seats. Jennie's dad is a really cool guy. I do think Jennie's mom is a really kind person as well, she probably have reasons that's why she treats me differently but I won't hate her and give her more reason to dislike me.
The party starts around noon time and go all along till night time which makes the place colder. Jennie sit down next to me when her dad's already sitting beside her mom. I'm just looking at how happy they are together that's why I can't really see Jennie's mom as a bad person.
"hey.." Jennie put her hand on top of mine while it's resting on my lap. I look at her as she smile towards me "you seem..preoccupied" she said while looking into my eyes
"i'm probably just tired" I said
"you sure?" she ask once more
"yeah.. i'm fine though, don't worry" I said to reassure her. She kept her eyes on me like she's reading my thoughts but she gave up and just nodded as she squeeze my hand before looking back ahead.
After a couple more minutes Jennie's mom and her dad transfer to our table to eat dinner that is being served per table. Jisoo's sitting on my right side while Jennie's mom told Jennie to transfer beside her. Jennie doesn't want to at first but I told her that i'll be fine. The foods are served and we all ate in silence but Jennie's dad seem to notice the silence so he started talking about some random thing back when he was younger making us all laugh.
Kai was about to pass by behind Jennie's mom to grab some water when Jennie's mom stopped him and told him to sit beside Jennie. Kai decline but Jennie's mom pulls him down so he can sit beside Jennie. Kai looks up to me as he mouthed sorry so I just nodded at him so he won't feel too bad about it.
"excuse me" Jennie's mom blurted out when we're done eating our desserts. We look up and saw that she's looking at me "can you please take a picture of us?" she said handing her phone to me
"mom!" Jennie yelled out
"I'll take it" Jisoo said standing up
"no it's okay sit down, Lisa has the right angle" she said. Mr. Kim was about to stand up and scold his wife when I felt a hand on my right arm making me turn around to look
"I brought the camera man. Lisa let's sit down" Jackson's mom said smiling at me. I slowly nodded and turn to look at Jennie's mom and Mr. Kim ordered her to sit down as well while he's frowning. Jennie and Kai's just looking at me but I just gave them a tight lipped smile so they won't get too worried about it.
Jackson's mom sit down next to me while she's holding a bottle of champagne on her other hand. She poured down some on my glass and offered it to everyone else around the table
"havent seen you in a while darling" she said "i'll tell Jackson to bring you if we're having a dinner or lunch outside" I smile at her and nod. She's actually really kind, she's the exact same copy of Jackson's characteristic which is really adorable.
Jackson's mom stayed on my side the whole time while Kai excused himself after a while telling Jennie's mom that he'll go to the bathroom but ended up not returning cause he doesn't want to put things in a more awkward situation. Once the party ended everyone greeted Jennie's dad a happy birthday again before going out to their separate cabins.
"Lisa" Mr. Kim calls out when there are few people left
"wait for me, let's go to the garden together" he said smiling at me. I walk towards the side while Jennie kept looking at me from time to time just to check up on me and make sure I'm alright. The rest of our friends left since they're all tired but Jisoo and Rosie stayed with me a little bit longer just to make sure that Jennie's mom won't talk to me again
"What are you two still doing here?" Jennie said when she approached us
"We're protecting Lisa" Rosie said forgetting that I told them not to say anything
"From?" Jennie asked worriedly
"Uhh.."Jisoo's eyes widened as she looks back at me then back at Jennie "from.. from mosquitoes!" She said randomly making Jennie furrow her brows
"Rosie your girlfriend has a common thing with my girlfriend... they're both crackheads" she said making me laugh somehow "Let's go now, dad will talk to Lisa" she said pulling both Rosie and Jisoo "I'll see you later" she said back to me as I just replied with a nod

"It's been a while" Mr. Kim says while we're walking through the garden "how are things between you and Jennie?"
"Everything's good, we're trying to make time for each other despite all the hours of work" I said smiling while looking at the ground
"Is Jennie still workaholic?"
"She's definitely still a workaholic" Mr Kim chuckles "but she makes time for me and for herself" I said making Mr Kim nod
"By the way about earlier.." I look up to him and his face is all serious while looking ahead "I'm sorry about my wife. I didn't know she'll cross lines" he sigh out heavily
"She doesn't seem to like me that much" I said which I know Mr. Kim won't take it as a disrespect to his wife
"And I'm hands down that you didn't pull her hair or swing your palm to her face"he said jokingly making both of us laugh "but in all seriousness... give her some time and she'll realize how lucky our daughter is"
"I will Mr. Kim" I said politely
"We still have a bunch of time before the wedding anyway right?" He said which makes my eyes go wide making him laugh at my reaction "I'm just letting you know that you have my approval for my daughter's hand for marriage"
