Chapter 11
I took another bite of my salad, shifting uncomfortably.
"So..." I started.
Tyler didn't acknowledge me, and Riley gave me an apologetic smile.
This was possibly the worst date ever.
I was so regretting telling Tyler about my date.
Yesterday, after Riley and all his friends had left, Tyler, Chris, and Jordan had come back in, and believe it or not, Tyler and Chris were laughing like childhood best friends.
Looks like my plan had worked.
I had texted Riley last night, and we had agreed to meet up at a pizza place for a dinner date.
After school, I had come home and gotten ready, and then Tyler had asked where I was going. When I told him, he had said he was coming too.
I had tried so hard for him to not come, I had gone as far as giving him all my red velvets, but he still came.
Now, after explaining that Tyler and I were forced into an arranged marriage to Riley, we sat here in an awkward silence, waiting for the pizza.
I glared over at Tyler who was sitting next to me in the booth, but he didn't seem to notice.
I threw down my fork suddenly, causing them both to snap their heads up to me, along with some other people nearby.
"Tyler, may I have a word with you?" I said, forcing politeness into my words.
He smirked and got up.
"One second." I smiled sweetly at the confused looking Riley.
I turned and went to the door of the restaurant.
"I think it's time for you to leave. Now." I said to Tyler.
"Ok, let's go." He said and turned to leave.
"No. I mean its time for you to go home, and let me enjoy my date with Riley.
He just chuckled.
"Riley's a pathetic loser. You can do so much better honestly."
I let out a frustrated scream and ignored all the looks I was getting.
"What is it with you? Are you like mentally challenged or something? I don't need your opinions, or advice. I don't want anything to do with you. I'm just putting up with all this crap out of sympathy, but when it's all over I never wanna see you again or have anything to do with you!" I cried at him.
I saw his eyes turn cold.
"Yeah? Well I don't need your charity, so you can go to hell." Tyler said darkly.
He turned and stormed out of the restaurant.
I let out a frustrated sigh.
He needed time to cool down.
I turned back around and went over to Riley, seeing our food had arrived.
***
The date with Riley had gone well, after Tyler had left.
We both had a great time, and agreed on seeing each other again soon.
I walked up the front steps to our door and rang the bell.
Chris opened the door, a bag of chips in his arm.
"Hey brotha." I said as I stepped inside.
"Hello sista." He said back and followed me into the living room.
