To begin lunch, it had only been the four of them. It was normal, but then the absurd happened, people joined them. And it wasn't a random flock, it was that which contained Jackson, Lydia as well as Allison. This was Maxine's first time having been in a conversation with the Argent girl.
"It's nice to finally meet you." The hunter's daughter smiled at her, confirming that Scott had mentioned her. Allison recognised Theo from her classes, but wasn't certain on his name. He only really conversed with Scott and Stiles, she had noticed.
"Likewise." Stabbing her food with her fork, she let the others speak, drifting into silence. Theo lightly elbowed her good side, diverting her attention away from the tray.
"How about we go out Saturday?" He wanted to distract her from having to miss what would be her first big game. She knew she was disappointed in not being able to participate, so taking her physically and mentally from it would benefit her.
"We have a curfew." Max stated. If she had no knowledge of the other world, maybe she'd have been willing to break it, but not now. Just the two of them would be easy targets, if there were more people, she'd be more inclined. "Come to mine, mum will be out and so will Scott, if he goes through with playing."
"Deal."
"I would rather stab myself in the face with this fork than hang out with you." Maxine's eyes flickered over to Jackson, who threw the insult at her brother.
"Do it then." She challenged him, drawing the entire table's attention to her. "Or do you need help with your cutlery?" People laughed at the jock, including his own girlfriend.
"She's coming bowling with us." Lydia said, not giving Max a chance to decline her offer. "I like her, and killer dress sense. Feel free to bring your plus one, then it can be a triple date." The popular girl waved towards Theo, having recognised them as an item.
Cringing at the idea, Scott was not too keen on the idea of being included on a triple date with his little sister and his friend, or even a double date for that matter. The plan started as just him and Allison, but the plan and its number of attendants had only expanded.
"I can't bowl." Scott praised his sister, hoping that she would not come. He knew from the past, she usually ended up dropping the ball on her foot, and running to their mum to check it over. Maxine also recognised that it could put pressure on the bruising, and that was not ideal. "At least I can admit it, unlike some people." Her voice had grown quieter, and only Theo had heard her. He grinned in response.
"You can learn." Lydia insisted. "Don't you think it's a great idea Allison?" If Allison agreed, Scott would feel bad if she tried to convince his sister otherwise when they got home later.
"Yeah." At her words, Theo knew he'd have to ask Tara if he could borrow her car for the thousandth time. "I'd like to get to know you better." Max smiled at that, looking down at her food once more.
"Theo." Stiles drew his attention away from his girlfriend. He looked to where he was sat at the table, only to be asked an unexpected question. "Do you think I'm attractive to gay guys?" He really wasn't doing himself any favours.
