Forcing herself into the dress as of Peter's command, Maxine was pleasantly surprised with the result. It fit perfectly which made her uncomfortable, seeing as Peter had picked the right size. She guessed he had glanced at the number that was attached to the one she had originally been interested in. Admittedly, she liked the way she appeared in it and the way it hugged her body. Max knew Theo's gaze would be magnetised to her figure.
"Oh honey." Melissa hadn't bothered to knock, entering her daughter's room after attending to her son. It was a change to see her daughter in a dress, she hardly wore them but she loved the way her Maxine looked in them.
"I hope that meant you like it." Glancing at her mother, Max brushed her hands down the front of the dress, feeling the soft material interact with her skin.
"You look amazing. Theo will be drooling when he sees you." The woman came closer to her daughter, brushing the hair out of her face gently. "He should be here soon."
Going out of the front door, Maxine walked towards the silver car that was parked outside. Theo exited it from one of the backseat, displaying his hand to the inside. With a giggle, Maxine entered, shuffling over to the furthest side so Theo had room to get back in.
"Wow." Was all that left his mouth.
"Don't think about drooling in my car for a second." Tara warned him from the driver's seat, her own date sat by her side. He was quiet, quite obviously not associated with either of the two in the back. Max laughed at his expense, which made a blush crawl from his neck to his cheeks.
"I got you something." He picked up a clear box that had been resting down by his feet. Having already been delivered details from Peter, she was not surprised to see him taking out the pink corsage.
"Thanks." Max kissed him on the cheek as he put it on her arm. His face appeared shy at the boldness the bite had given her, and the fact that it was done in the presence of his own sibling.
"Sucks that Scott can't come." It looked like Theo shared the same opinion as his girlfriend, who only smirked at the thought.
"Something tells me he'll still be there."
"Go have fun you two, but not too much." Tara told the teenagers she had chaperoned, sending them hawk eyes with her fingers. With that, her and her silent date dispersed from the younger pair, leaving them to themselves.
Theo grasped her hand, only for her to pull him in the direction of her newfound friend and her jackass date. Jackson raised his eyebrows at their presence, slightly intimidated by Scott's sister. What if she was like him?
Allison blinked, slightly embarrassed by the complications that regarded her brother. But she pushed them aside, seeing as she had recently befriended Scott's sister. She wasn't judgemental, she was kind and understanding from what she had learnt from their time in the library and the mall.
"Thought you were wanting something red." The Argent spoke, surprised but on board with the pink. Maxine hadn't shown her the dress after having it purchased for her. It just stayed in the bag as to not remind herself of the conversation with Peter.
"My mind changed." That wasn't entirely false. At least with a pink dress, it matched the corsage Theo had gotten her. "It just reminded me of something. Wasn't my cup of tea per say." She prayed to god that she wouldn't have a run in with her alpha tonight. The formal was supposed to be fun and she wanted to be carefree. But she knew whatever happened, she had to protect Theo.
Maxine grimaced at seeing the man that had ruined his life. Her nose had smelt blood, so she had followed it, forcing Theo to stay behind her as she tracked the source down. That was when they had reached the lacrosse pitch, only to see Lydia on the lacrosse pitch, harmed and bleeding. Stiles walked past them, causing Theo to grab his arm.
"Where are you going?" He knew that he wouldn't just abandon in this state if he didn't have to, especially with Peter looking down at her unconscious body.
"To tell Jackson." Stiles said no more as he went into the school, proceeding to do as he had said.
Peter began to walk away when Stiles arrived, the couple promptly following them. They all bundled into the car, the humans smelling of fear at being this close to him. He looked through the rear view mirror, inspecting Maxine with a tilt of his head.
"Well, don't you look lovely in that dress little wolf?" Maxine growled at his query, and Theo responded.
"Don't call her that. She's still a person and shouldn't have to be defined by what you did to her." Peter didn't answer, just smirked before leaving the vehicle once it had come to a stop.
"Don't feel bad. If she lives, she'll become a werewolf. She'll be incredibly powerful." Peter's gaze danced in its corner, focusing on how Max was processing his words. He had bitten someone else, someone whom she had become well acquainted with. A part of him knew Lydia would be strong if she survived, but not quite as powerful as his little wolf.
"Yeah. And once a month she'll go out of her freaking mind and try to tear me apart." If Theo hadn't stopped her on the night of the full moon, Max was sure she would have done the same. So technically, Theo had possibly saved his life.
"Well, actually, considering she's a woman... twice a month." Well that was just great. Maxine wanted nothing more to attack him, she was disgusted with what he had just informed him. But considering there were two humans present that she cared about, she didn't want to risk the threat Peter had given her. She may have to actually follow his rules.
