Melissa had Maxine checking her phone as she waited outside of Harris' classroom, seeing if there was any updates from Scott. He was supposed to be here, but to everyone's dismay, wasn't. It made Max worry. There was so much going on with him and any one of them could have been the cause for his absence. They differed from Allison, to Derek and then the thing that had bitten him, making her hope with all her might that he had instead ditched with his girlfriend.

From where she stood, there was a classroom opposite from the one her mum was in. Theo, unlike Scott and Stiles, was here with his parents. His grades would have been above a C if it weren't for them, they put too much pressure on his shoulders. Her boyfriend glances through the slim glass, noticing that Max was stood there patiently. He gave her a smile, before turning back to the matters at hand, not wanting to draw their attention towards her.

"We've been telling him to focus." His mother informed the teacher, making him hang his head down. He had heard this speech plenty of times. "He has the perfect role model, yet he refuses to follow in his sister's footsteps."

The teacher looked between her student and his parents, catching onto the tension that was flowing between them. She takes off her glasses, having come up with the cure for his grades.

"Theo is a bright boy, Mrs Raeken. Perhaps you should pay attention to that a little more. His classwork is amazing, but when it comes to the tests, it's as though his mind is working too hard. He overthinks, and that is his one problem."

Theo's father remained silent, brooding to himself. His fists clenched, holding in his disagreement with the woman who was educating his son.

The door opened and Melissa exited. With one glance at where Theo was seated, Maxine began to leave with her mother.

"The nerve that guy has." She spoke to her daughter, not surprising her in the slightest. There was still no contact from Scott.

"That's just Harris for you." All the students knew of his prompting behaviour, he just couldn't seem to stop himself.

"He told me you and Scott are lacking a male authority figure." Usually it was Max confiding in her mother, but this time the latter needed some reassurance.

"We only need you." She stated, certain that that was the truth. Harris really should learn to keep his opinions to himself. He didn't understand, their family worked, despite the lack of communication here and there. It was a normal occurrence in every family, and maybe he would have understood that if someone actually wanted to have a family with him.

Their mum was scolding Scott, and the Argents doing the same to their daughter. Maxine had stood back, not wanting to be involved in the commotion. Her boyfriend and his family exited the building, having dragged that meeting on for longer than it should have been. Theo wanted to run over to Max, but he had to resist doing so, otherwise he'd be in more trouble than he already was. He would have to pine from a distance, and she do the same.

A scream pulled them away from their mutual gazing. It was then followed by a loud growl. Panic ensued, and Maxine backed up the steps so that she could see everything from a higher position. Theo's parents got in their car, yet Theo didn't go with them. Instead he reached Max, pulling her closer as they tried to stay calm. If need be, they could just run back inside of the school. No one was doing a good job at controlling themselves down there, it was a crisis.

Silence emits after a bullet is fired by Allison's father, ensuring that it is okay for Max and Theo to investigate the scene. Even his parents had gotten out of their car to inspect the dead beast. It was a mountain lion, the exact animal that had caused the curfew.

"I'm still not sure." She told herself. It could have still been a werewolf...
