"Werewolf heterochromia"

Wriggling her nose, Maxine could smell the boyish scent of her brother quilt the shirt Theo had borrowed of his. They were sat waiting in Roscoe, with Scott and Stiles in the front, parked in parking lot of school. None of the four moved, they were all willowing in the rising tension in the jeep, although only the McCalls could physically smell it.

Stiles drummed his long fingers against the steering wheel, filling the silence with an annoying tune he was playing from his head.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Scott's voice cracked, turning in his seat so he could look at his sister. He felt hurt by her dishonesty, and he had harmed himself in failing to protect her.

"You had enough to worry about." Her head rested against the back of Stiles' reclined seat, regretting in not confiding in her brother sooner. "I was planning to tell you, really I was, but I wanted to get through that one milestone."

"How did you stay in control?" Scott himself still struggled, so he didn't understand how his newly bitten sister had managed to not lose control. To him it was a primal urge to run into the woods, or in the direction of Allison.

"And that is where the eating each other's faces comes in..." Stiles' seat was pushed completely forward by Max so it was no longer reclined back. She huffed at his snitching, looking at Theo as he checked his bag, confirming he had his inhaler on hand.

"Dude, remember that's my sister." It was weird enough his friend was dating his sister, let alone getting progressively more intimate with her.

"It worked though, didn't it?" Theo's eyebrow raised, slightly amused about Scott's complaining.

"Derek is also alive." Maxine shot up in her seat at hearing Stiles' statement, and she would have believed her ears were playing tricks on her if she didn't have super hearing.

"Where is he? I have to see him." Rushed from her lips, her body becoming jittery at the thought of escaping the confined, suffocating space of the jeep. "He might know something about the werewolf heterochromia."

"Is that seriously what we're calling it now?" Theo asked, thinking there must be a better name for it. But alas there wasn't, and the youngest McCall had stuck to what Stiles had originally dubbed it.

"You got a better name?" Stiles retorted. "And Derek is also not picking up his phone, so you will not be having words with the werewolf young missy."

"Then I'll find other information." Without another word she left the vehicle, walking towards the school and away from the boys.

"Did you seriously have to make out with my sister?" It looked like Scott still hadn't gotten over that subject.

The girl sat solitarily in the library, shuffling through pages of lore. From what she had gathered, most of the lines were actually myths. She hadn't related to anything that was written, she hadn't even completely transformed or urged to feast on someone's heart.

"Is this seat taken?" There were empty seats around the table, excluding the one Max was seated in. The speaker was Allison, who squinted suspiciously once she realised what the books were informative about.

"Feel free." Scott's sister smiled at the older girl, not having had much of a conversation with her beforehand. And so the girl from the family of hunters sat opposite the werewolf, both oblivious to the others' status.

"I've never really seen you without Theo." They seemed to be adjoined at the hips, sometimes at the lips too. It seemed strange to see her with no kind of protector.

"Boys can be too annoying to spend every waking minute with." She laughed, removing her eyes from the horrendous images that only slightly resembled the alpha. It didn't even have red eyes. "You should know, seeing as you have my brother wrapped around your finger and all."

"It is nice to have time away from them and think." Allison agreed, continuing the conversation. "Are you going to the formal?"

"Yeah, with Theo obviously." She didn't even have to mention the last part, but it made herself smile at the thought.

"I heard Macy's has good dresses."
