S P E N C E R J A M E S O NAfter eating at the restaurant we decided to go to a bar down the street. Well Harlow decided, I didn't really have a say in it. I was a little hesitant at first, considering the loud music and crowds of people, but I try to forget about it and just follow Harlow as we make our way inside.
Just as I expected, music blares through the speakers on the surrounding walls. "Oh my god I love this song!" Harlow squeals as she holds onto my hand.
"You love every song." I reply sarcastically and she just laughs as we make our way over to the bar.
I stand as close to Harlow as I possibly can while she orders us drinks. It's not that I don't want to be here, it's just a lot, you know. Especially after going to that underground fighting thing the other night. I really shouldn't have gone there at all. Kane is right, it's really not the place someone like me should be.
She hands me a drink and takes a sip with her before she holds hers in the air while swaying towards the dance floor. We maneuver through the busy crowds of drunk people and I gasp when I suddenly feel hands around my waist.
I freeze and my heart pounds in my chest as I swing my head around to meet with Asher's hazel eyes. "Ash— Asher?" I stutter and he smirks looking behind me at Harlow who I can only assume is staring back at him.
He nods at me before walking over to Harlow and planting a kiss on her lips. Well, okay then. Moving swiftly on from that..
I glance around the dozens of bodies wondering who he came here with. Surely he wouldn't have come alone? Unless I'm third wheeling. Great.
I turn back and watch Asher walking on ahead to a booth and Harlow waves over to me to follow them. I do so and we sit down on the chairs. Well I do, Harlow sits on Asher's lap instead. Ugh, this is why I never third wheel, I hate it.
Just as I take another sip of my drink my nose catches the smell of the most beautiful cologne I've ever smelt in my life. My eyes flick up and I swear it's like a scene from a movie. You know when everything goes slow-motion? My lips part around my straw as I gawk at the muscular figure edging towards us.
He's dressed in all black — black shirt and jeans with black shoes and he still manages to look that good. Wow. Did I just drool over him? What am I thinking? Stop it Spencer.
He walks over and takes a seat next to me, casually draping his arm around the back of my chair. Asher gives him a small nod which he returns before looking at me. "Hey." He greets, his voice low and husky.
"Hi." I reply nervously as I take a sip of my drink to try and distract myself from him.
"So what are you guys doing here?" Harlow takes the words right out of my mouth as she glances between both boys.
Kane shrugs. "We could ask you the same question." He replies with a slight smirk.
It is just a coincidence that we're all here on the same night, or did they know we were here? I glance over at Harlow who's laughing at Asher as he says something in her ear. Of course it's not. She said she was seeing him again tonight. She's such a schemer.
"You look uncomfortable." Kane says and I divert my attention over to him as he sits watching me closely.
I shrug my shoulders giving a sheepish smile. "Yeah, this isn't really my scene." I reply and he smiles, nodding.
