S P E N C E R J A M E S O NTonight was actually really fun. I really needed it. I left before Harlow — she probably just wanted to stay a little longer with a certain someone. I can't blame her, Asher seems like a nice person and she deserves to be happy.
I didn't have that much to drink and I'm kind of grateful because it's one of the many things that give me a major headache.
Opening my dresser I pull out some shorts and a tank top, brushing my hair and my teeth before getting into bed. The noise of the tv in the background helps me feel a lot calmer as I drift off to sleep.
My body stirs and I can hear a faint noise in the distance. My eyes flutter open and I hear another noise, this time like rustling or something. My heart starts racing and I carefully lean over to my nightstand to get my phone. I hear it again but much louder and I jump out of bed, panicking as I frantically look around the room for some sort of weapon or something.
Who am I kidding, theres no way I'd be able to defend myself against a man, not that I even know how many there even are. I hear movement outside my room and I panic, running over to my closet and pushing the clothes out of the way to sit on the floor. I pull the door over and move as far back as physically possible.
The doors are like shutters so I can see through the gaps. I just hope whoever it is doesn't see me when they come in here.
My hands shake as I scroll through my phone and dial Harlow's number. Damn it! Straight to voicemail.
I freeze when I hear footsteps in my room. Marshall's still in New York so this isn't him. Someone has actually broke into my apartment.
My whole body trembles as I scroll through my contacts, trying not to cry as my finger hovers over Kane's name. I can't call Marshall and Harlow isn't picking up. The intruder walks back out of the room and I press Kane's number. He answers after the first few rings. "Spencer?"
"Someone's in my house." I whisper through ragged breaths, my lips trembling as I continue holding in my cries.
"What? Where are you?" He asks sounding panicked.
I peer out of the gaps in my closet door and whisper into the speaker, "I'm in my closet."
"Okay, stay there I'm coming over. Stay on the phone but keep quiet alright? It's going to be okay I'll be there soon." I nod, forgetting that he can't see me as I huddle myself into the corner more.
I can hear him getting into his car while whoever is in my apartment continues rummaging through cupboards and drawers. I cover my mouth with my hand, trying to keep as quiet as possible when I hear Kane's voice again. "You okay?"
"Mmh." I mumble into the speaker as I try controlling my breathing.
"Did you see what they looked like? How may there are?" He asks.
"No, I think it's just one person. I'm not sure." I reply shakily as I try my best to remain quiet and undetected.
Whoever is in my house knows I'm here because they've seen my bed. Oh my god what if they're looking for me?
A smashing sound makes me jump and I gasp into my hand, squeezing my eyes closed as tight as I can. My palms begin to sweet and my chest starts hurting from the speed my heart is beating.
