K A N E W A L K E RThe last time I met with Alberto, we discussed Marshall Fletcher and I tried to get some more information on him, but it seems I was out of luck.
Al didn't appear to have much information or knowledge on what we previously found on him. In fact, he hardly has anything new on him at all. It seems as though they've just pushed him to the side, considering he doesn't pose any kind of threat to their organisation.
As much as I wish it was my call to take Marshall and his whole fucking company down, it isn't my place. So it looks like I just have to wait until he does something personal to me, and then I can finally do something about it.
"What are we supposed to say once we get there?" Asher asks, stealing me from my thoughts as he looks out of the window next to me.
Another hour and a half's drive to Alberto's compound isn't exactly what I wanted to be doing right now but I'm sure he'll be pleased with what I have to tell him.
After all the digging we've been doing on Marshall Fletcher over the past few weeks, I've managed to find out a lot of interesting things about him. For one, in the past few times I've spoke with Al about him and he hadn't shown much interest, now I think that's about to change.
"Well you're not going to say anything." I tell Asher and he rolls his eyes.
"Just stand next to you and look pretty, I got it." He replies sarcastically and I chuckle under my breath. He's so full of himself. His ego is bigger than the whole whole of fucking New Orleans.
My mind seems to wonder to Spencer. It's been about three hours since I dropped her home and I haven't heard from her yet. She has to break it to him that she's leaving him, it's bound to take some time.
I know that when she's ready, she'll call me.
I continue driving until I reach the large steel gates that protect Alberto's house. I stop the car when a large group of men approach me and I drop down my window to look out at them.
"ID?" One of them asks, a gun visible in his hand. He examines my ID carefully before eventually nodding and giving it back to me, allowing the other men to move so that the gates can open.
"Shit, I forgot how secure this place was." Asher mumbles as we drive through the compound.
This place is pretty crazy. The fences that surround the building are protected by many, many volts and his men patrol the grounds heavily armed with dozens of guard dogs. Basically once you're in here, there's no escape unless he grants it.
We pull up outside the house and get out to be greeted by more men, also heavily armed. They take us through the house and walk us towards his office. One of the men gives me a small nod before opening the door and allowing me and Asher to walk inside. The door closes behind us and I look over to see Alberto sat behind his desk.
"Kane, my old friend, what brings you here?" He asks while blowing cigar smoke from his mouth, his dark grey eyes dart between me and Asher as he puts it out in his tray.
"I have some information on Marshall Fletcher I thought you would like to hear." I say and it's like his ears prick up at the mention of his name.
