S P E N C E R J A M E S O N

I woke up covered in sweat from yet another nightmare last night. They're getting worse and more vivid each time. It feels like he's really there and each time I genuinely believe that he's going to get to me.

Kane suggested that I should go to therapy but I'm not sure. We agreed that I'd think about it and that we can do things on my terms. He doesn't want to pressure me into anything and I'm so grateful for him

Telling my parents was one of the hardest things I've ever done. They were heartbroken. I hated seeing them that way. I just wish I had been able to tell them before things escalated the way they did. Maybe if I had, none of this would have happened.

Kane's Mom is coming over today and I need to make a good first impression. The bruises on my face have started to fade slightly so I'm able to cover them up with makeup now. I put on a long sleeved dress and keep my hair down while Kane watches from the bed.

"You know you don't need that makeup, you're gorgeous without it." He says and I smile at him in the reflection.

Once I'm finished I turn around and see that Kace still hasn't bothered getting changed yet. "As much as I like you like that, you probably should put a shirt on." I tell him and he smirks, dramatically falling back on the bed.

I walk over and grab hold of his hand, pulling with every ounce of strength in me but he doesn't even move a muscle. "Why are you so heavy?" I moan and he lifts his head, his eyes widening.

"I don't know whether to take that as a compliment or not," he replies and I roll my eyes, playfully nudging him in his stomach.

"Come on!" I groan and he huffs before eventually sitting back up. I walk over to his closet and open it up. "Now, what shade of black should you wear today?"

.                    .                    .

"How are you feeling sweetie? Is there anything I can get for you?" Jane asks.

I shake my head. "I'm okay, and no I'm fine thank you." She gives me a polite smile, placing her hand on top of mine over the counter.

"Mr Walker thinks the world of you, you know that right?" I watch her carefully as she gives a hopeful smile. She gives my hand a small squeeze before releasing it and waking off through the apartment.

I pull my bottom lip between my teeth and smile pathetically as I think about what she just said. He thinks the world of me? Does she really think that?

"What was going on there? You two looked very cosy." Kane asks curiously as he walks into the kitchen and leans against the counter, drinking a protein shake.

I glance up at him and stop smiling, hoping he didn't catch me. "Oh, nothing serious. She was just talking to me about everything, you know."

He opens his mouth to say something when his phone rings. Rolling his eyes he swipes the screen and puts it to his ear. "Already?.. Okay yeah you can bring her up." He hangs up and looks over at me. "My mom's here."

He seems more nervous about it than I am. He puts his drink down and runs his hands through his hair, pulling it back from his face.
