S P E N C E R   J A M E S O N

Day two of staying at Kane's place. Yeah.. after all that yesterday I still decided to stay. Call me stupid but I guess I've been pretty stupid for the past couple years of my life.

I'm not really sure what to believe. He promised me that nothing would happen to me but so did Marshall and look how that turned out. My gut feeling is always been wrong. Deep down I think I know that he would never actually hurt me but then again I thought the same about Marshall. At one point I genuinely didn't think he could even harm a fly.

So as of this moment, I'm aware that Kane works in an illegal underground fighting circuit and he works alongside one of the biggest Mafia leaders in the world. Wow, I really can't catch a break can I?

Why can't I just find someone who works in a bakery or something? Where their only worries are what kind of dough they're able to make, or how many croissant's they're going to be able to make for the all the customers they'll have before 12 o'clock.

Our gym session was cut short yesterday because a certain someone couldn't make it. I wonder why that was? A little birdie just happened to tell me that Asher was near by at the exact same time. She is so stupid, does she really think that I wouldn't find out? I love her but she really needs to step up her game.

Surprisingly it wasn't too awkward considering it was just me and Kane. He talked me through a few different machines and offered to help me in the boxing gym but I politely declined. I'm not sure that punching something is what I really want to be doing right now. I'm scared it will bring back memories that I desperately want to forget, and the last thing I want to do is have a breakdown in front of him.

One thing I really like to do that helps me take my mind off of things, is make cupcakes. I just love cake.

I run downstairs and into the kitchen when I see Jane. She turns and looks at me with a big smile. "Good morning ma'am, how are you?"

I give her a warm smile in return. "I'm really good thank you. I uh, I don't want to intrude but I was just wondering if there's any cake mixture here? I'd really like to make a cake or something for Kane as a thank you for allowing me to stay here."

She smiles when I hear her chuckle slightly as she walks towards the cupboard. "Everything you need is in here, help yourself. And just a tip, Mr Walker likes red velvet, so if you're going to make one I suggest making that for him." She gives me a small wink and I giggle as she turns around and walks out of the kitchen.

Red velvet? That's my favorite too! As well as chocolate cake obviously, who doesn't like chocolate cake?

And no, they're not the same thing. Not to me anyway. Red velvet cake is a type of rich chocolate-flavoured sponge cake that is coloured red, while a chocolate cake is simply a cake made with chocolate or cocoa. Personally chocolate gateau's are my absolute favourite, but if I stay on the topic of cake any longer, I don't think I'll ever stop talking about it.

So instead, I decide to get busy preparing everything that I need and rummage the cupboards and look for some bowls and spoons before I start baking.

Luther Vandross - Never Too Much, starts playing through the speakers on the walls and I can only imagine that it's Jane. I laugh to myself and start swaying my hips to the beat as I continue mixing the cake mixture in the bowl.

The smile on my face grows bigger and bigger as I can't help but feel so free. This is exactly how I imagined my life to be, dancing around the kitchen carefree mixing up a few cakes, this is what I wanted my life to be like. But I guess what we want and what we get really are two different things.
