"Fai where's the paperwork on Marshall Fletcher?" I ask as I walk into my penthouse.

He looks up at me. "It will be with the others, in the filing cabinet in the second office." I nod at him and walk towards it, Asher hot on my trail.

He closes the door over behind me as I open the cabinet, flicking past each name. "What is it that we're looking for exactly?" He asks as he walks over and stands next to the unit.

There's a knock on the door and I turn to see Fai peering around the corner. "Boss is there anything we can do?"

"Get everything you can on him, I don't care how small it is, just get it." I tell him and he nods.

"I'll get the others on it now boss." He replies before closing the door behind him.

Asher chuckles, running a hand along his jaw. "Shit man, what the hell is going on?"

My eyes widen when I find his file and I move everything off of my desk, clearing it and spread each piece of paper across it.

"I'm not sure whether this man is a genius or just down right fucking stupid." I mumble into my hand as I stare at each piece of paper.

"Kane, what the fuck is happening?" Asher asks again and I look up at him.

"A few years ago, Alberto asked me to do a job for some company, Liberty Insurance I think it was called. The owner of the company was a dick and owed Al a lot of money so I went down there to get it from him."

Asher's eyebrows furrow together as he crosses his arms. "When I went there, the place was like a war zone. His whole office was covered in blood and I found him in the corner of the room. Someone beat me to it,"

"So I called Al and told him what happened, and we had to clean the whole place up. It wasn't even our responsibility but Al being Al, wanted to make sure nothing was left for the cops."

"Because the mess could potentially lead back to him?" Asher quizzes and I nod. "The mafia are so slick man." He says to himself and begins to smile.

I sigh, running my hand through my hair as I think about all the different possibilities of this. "A few weeks later we found out that a guy called Marshall had taken over the company but was changing the name to his branch. We all thought it was strange that a guy who didn't even live here, had taken over a huge fucking insurance company and decided to change everything."

"So he just came out of nowhere and bought the company that coincidently linked to Alberto?" Asher asks.

"Yeah. It was only that Al has connections that we came across Jasper Garcia, someone who also happened to have ownership in the exact same company. After a bit more digging we found out that Marshall had done a few jobs for Jasper in the past in exchange for a share in the new building."

His eyes widen and I continue. "They were supposed split this branch between them, getting half of the profits each but Marshall played Jasper and he somehow ended up losing his share completely. He's been trying to find a way to get back what he took from him ever since."

"So the break in at Spencer's apartment could have been him?" Asher says and I shrug my shoulders.

"I don't know. It could have, but I'm sure he would have got one of his men to do it if it was him. If he's that set on getting back his company, I'm sure he wouldn't stop at anything. Not if the things I've heard about him are true."
