I'm so nervous I think I might be sick. My heart is racing and my legs are shaking as I walk through the apartment with Kane.

Fai is meeting them downstairs and bringing them up to us. I honestly don't even know how to react.

It feels like it's been so long since I last saw either of them. Well, it has been. I haven't seen them both in nearly a year.

Marshall always came up with excuses to why we couldn't go back and visit, and when they suggested coming here he always put it off.

I miss them.

"Do you want a drink?" Kane asks and I shake my head quickly, too nervous to even look at him.

The elevator chimes and the doors open. They follow Fai as he guides them out and into Kane's penthouse.

He strokes my hand gently with his thumb, reassuring me that he was here and I instantly feel a little calmer.

"Spencer!" My mom exclaims as she notices me.

I can't help the smile that automatically forms on my face. "Hey mom." I reply as I glance at my dad. "Hey dad."

"Hey princess," he replies softly. He's always had such a low, smooth voice. Never raising it once as I was growing up. He was always the calmer out of the two.

We'll definitely be putting that to the test in the next few minutes.

My moms eyes flick over to Kane's and she notices our hands which are still locked tightly together. She looks back at me curiously and I gulp again.

Kane nods over at Fai and he leaves the room, my dad's eyes following him as he does. They're probably wondering what the hell is going on right now. I don't blame them. I would be too.

"Why don't you sit down? You must be tired after your flight." I say and they both nod before walking towards, us over to the sofa's.

As the get closer my mom notices my face and her eyes widen in horror. Kane catches her and just gives my hand another gentle squeeze.

"Mom, dad. This is Kane, this is his place." I say, trying to prevent the dreaded topic being brought up for as long as I can. Both my parents look at Kane, their brows still furrowed.

"It's nice to meet you both." Kane greets them and my dad is the first to reply.

"It's good to meet you too son, but what's going on here Spence?"

My mom looks at Kane, giving him a small smile which I see him return. I take a deep breath, closing my eyes for a split second while I try to compose myself. Okay come on Spencer, you've got this.

"Spencer what the hell happened fo your face?" My dad asks, a tremble evident in his voice.

"There's something I've been keeping from you both, something that you deserve to know." I pause and Kane looks down at me, giving me a reassuring smile. "I should have been honest with you from the start but I was scared. I should have reached out, but I didn't know how."
