S P E N C E R J A M E S O N"You're really telling me that you've never seen an episode of stranger things?" I say again in completing utter disbelief as Kane continues to sit laughing at me.
"Spencer, I'm a twenty-six year old underground fighter, I don't exactly think a show like that would be for me." He replies playfully and I chew on the inside of my lip.
Yeah.. I mean.. there's that.
"I know that you work in the underground but you must have seriously been living under a rock." I laugh and he looks over at me, his cheeks lifted into a complete smile.
He leans over and takes the remote from me, switching through the different programs. "Well maybe that's something I'll have to start watching then."
I watch him from the corner of my eye as a grin begins to spread across my face. I sit back against the sofa and wait as he continues to scroll through Netflix. Let's face it we could be here for ages. Do you know the amount times I've logged in and spent more time looking for a movie to watch than actually watching one.
In the end he eventually choses fight club. It's not exactly the type of movie I would personally choose but I'm in no position to say anything about it. Although I can't hide the fact that it does make me feel a little bit uneasy. I guess this is just what he does, this is Kane but it's not me. Violence like this is what I try to avoid. Maybe I shouldn't be here. Maybe this isn't right.
Unfortunately for me I think he realises that the movie is making me slightly uncomfortable, so he pauses it and looks over at me. "We can watch something else if you want?" He suggests and I fumble with the sleeves on my hoodie, slowly nodding in agreement. He smiles and we end up watching the new Jumanji instead. Let's face it who doesn't love Kevin Hart?
After a while my phone vibrates and I check the screen to see Harlow's name.
Hey, how are you? I was thinking maybe we could go back to the gym today?
The gym? Great, I forgot all about that. How am I supposed to tell her? Ugh.
"Is everything alright?" Kane asks and I look over at him, nodding as I hold my phone.
"Harlow wants me to go back to the gym with her."
He smiles, his dimples appearing again "you don't sound like you want to go."
"That's probably because I don't" I confess and he chuckles as he stands up from the sofa and looks down at me. "What are you doing?"
"I'm going to the gym, you coming?"
This really wasn't what I had in mind. The gym and me really don't go well together, I'm more of a food and me kind of person. I genuinely never thought I would ever set foot in the gym in my entire life.
I've never really had any reason to go to one before. I'm not exactly the fittest person in the world but I've never been a big build, so I've never really seen the point in joining up for one.
But now thanks to Harlow and her amazing ideas, I guess I have no choice.
I'm not really sure what I'm going to say to her about her gym clothes yet. I guess I could just say that I couldn't find them? I mean, I am a bit clumsy and quite forgetful so I'm sure she'll understand.
Luckily I packed a pair of sweatpants and a tank top so I can just wear them this time. When Kane knocks on my door he is dressed in grey sweatpants and a matching T-shirt. The material clings to his toned frame so effortlessly and for some reason my eyes won't move themselves away.
