To Iverg Mountain
One Sune Cycle Later
Jasar sighed as he stretched and laid down on the soft grass of the forest, listening as the birds chirped around the group. The beasts had spent the entire night and morning flying off toward Iverg Mountain, so by now they were exhausted and decided to take a break. The cat flicked his tail quietly as he watched a small red bug crawl on a blade of grass before lifting his head. He watched with perked ears as Xengu and Marsh had returned from their hunt.
The winged panther was giving the long-eared male an earful as he held the rabbits and mice that evidently, she hunted. Their bodies had too big holes around their necks to be a lynx's bite.
"If you didn't keep trying to run after every prey you spotted, you would have caught them!" she yelled.
"Lay off, we just got back from the prison!" Marsh growled.
"If you had remembered stealth you would have caught them just fine. We're all light so them finding you from your weight shouldn't be an issue."
The forest lynx rolled his eyes and groaned, shaking his head as he came up to the others. Three rabbits and four mice were in his hands. Xengu gingerly took two mice by the tails and then stuck her tongue out at Marsh, who returned it. They were play-arguing, the usual. Favi lazily held out her hands from the rock she was sunebathing on, earning two mice from the forest lynx. She glared at him before sighing and getting up, calling to Xengu.
The panther joined her and sat down on the rock, the two eating their mice together as Marsh sighed and handed Latif a rabbit. The cub quietly took the dead rabbit in his hands and scrunched his nose.
"It's still got the fur on it..."
The older brother flinched a little before quietly taking the rabbit back from him and handed Jasar a different one. Favi was judging from her place as Marsh ripped the fur off of Latif's rabbit and handed it to him. The lynx cub took the rabbit and started nibbling at it disdainfully. The bifers ate their food quietly until they heard rustling as Raid and the young ophoris returned from their hunt. They watched as the two set down two small deer in front of Crackle, who shifted awake and yawned.
"I guess we weren't successful in getting more than a sune cycle's worth of food," the flabir mumbled as he glanced to the bifers.
"No, because this idiot kept trying to- "
"I know my mistake I'm sorry!" Marsh yowled in frustration as he interrupted Xengu.
"Sorry won't fill our bellies in the future!"
The two glared at each other before sticking out their tongues again. Favi slapped Xengu's arm, in which she got a growl in return.
"I guess we'll just have to hunt again some other time," Raid sighed out.
Xengu glared at Marsh again, who sniffed and turned his head away. The younger ophoris then pushed one of the deer toward Crackle.
"Are you going to eat?" they asked.
"Oh, no, no. I can eat the bark off of trees and many other things that you wouldn't be able to eat, so go on ahead and have your..."
The flabir blanked as he looked down at the dead deer, the feathers on the top of his head lowering.
"Erm... what is that, anyway?"
"You've never seen a deer before?" Favi asked.
