Five Sune Cycles Later
It had been a long while since their attempted escape. Time went on normally, however the anticipation of getting news about Crackle and Raid was getting unbearable. The bifers had no idea what had happened to the two of them and hadn't seen them since they were caught. They did get some other news, simply from hypnotized ophoree or flabirs. The battle patrol had been held back to heal up, but the group knew that they would be going back out any moment now. The issue is that they wouldn't be able to have a second try at escaping.
Xengu, who had been making attempts at building her strength back, had been pacing around in her cage for ages. Occasionally they would hear the flapping of her wings instead of her claws scraping the ground. The issue was that she had to be careful whenever she landed, chance that she ram into the electric bars. There were a few close calls that left Favi watching her with intense security. She wasn't going to let her friend get herself killed by simply an accident.
Finding the winged panther flying around once more, the winter lynx sighed and got up.
"Aren't you tired of having to deal with the bars and all of that? I'm sure flying greater distances would be nicer," she shouted out to Xengu.
The panther glided down and fluttered her wings as she landed, the strength regaining in her body visible as she thumped on the ground. With this strength she seemed to get cockily graceful in her movements. Lucky her, Blaze and Morfran saw her attempts and were encouraging it. Anything to make their Black Void a powerful weapon in battle.
"It... would be, yeah. But it seems only beasts have the ability to..." the panther stopped, obviously not knowing the right word.
"Deactivate the electricity?"
"Y-yeah, that."
Favi leaned over and squinted at the bars. They were obviously charged by some kind of ability energy, something Crackle could deactivate with a nip and Raid to absorb. Well, that was right, Raid absorbed the electricity with her chains, and it didn't seem to hurt her in any way. Maybe... maybe Jasar could do something about it, he did mention that he had a thread ability that he found while mending.
"Hey, Jasar!" Favi called.
She could hear the scrambling of paws at the heed of her voice, then watched as the light gray tom ran around the corner.
"Yes?" he asked, quickly adjusting himself.
"You know how Raid was able to deactivate the electricity with her chains?"
Jasar stared at the cage bars for a moment before turning and raising an eyebrow at the winter lynx.
"Um... yeah?"
"Maybe, since this electricity is obviously some kind of ability energy, you could deactivate it with your thread!" Favi proclaimed.
The tom cat stuttered and stumbled back a little, glancing to the bars and then to the lynx nervously.
"Erm... isn't that electricity deadly to us? I don't think my thread ability would be able to deal with it all..."
"Aw c'mon, you've got to at least try."
Jasar looked at Favi for a moment before sighing and dipping his head, looking up at the cage nervously. Then his markings began to glow a little as he seemed to tense.
"Okay, I've never summoned my thread before by will, so this will be a little tricky."
Quietly the cat closed his eyes and took a deep breath, the blue palm pads on his hands beginning to glow. He seemed to do mindless hand tricks before a thin, blue strand of thread began to form. Xengu and Favi watched with interest as the cat tried to grab at the thread. Though whenever his hand clasped on it, it dissipated and left him hanging his head with a sigh.
