"How's life?" Kurt asks.

Blaine nearly choked on his coffee. "Fine!"

"Okay... Does your dad know-"

"How's your life been?"

Kurt could easily see Blaine's insecurity but decided the Lima Bean wasn't the best place to talk about it.

"I sing... In Glee Club."

"Oh.. You still got it?"

Kurt nods.

"I used to sing a lot more but It doesn't qualify as normal to a lot of my friends anymore..." Blaine confides.

Later that day, Blaine was walking through the halls. He was in a particularly good mood because his team had won the football game in P.E. He was on his way to the locker room to tell Karovsky.

About halfway there, Blaine saw him come running out. He looked almost afraid of something... Blaine peeked into the locker room and found Kurt of all people alone.

He was against the lockers, completely still. Blaine wasn't sure what was wrong, but Kurt was terrified. He let out a sob as he tried to catch his breath and slid down to the floor.

Blaine came to his side when he saw that. "Kurt, what's wrong?"

Kurt simply shook his head and a single tear fell. "K-Karovsky..."

"What do you mean? What did he do?"

Kurt was unable to speak.

"Did he hurt you?"

There were no bruises or cuts that Blaine could see. Blaine put his hands over Kurt's shaking ones.

"He... He k-kissed me..."

"What?! B-but he's... he's..."

Blaine was beyond confused. He was torn between running and beating the shit out of Karovsky and staying with Kurt.

"I'll be back, make sure he's okay."

"Jesus, what the hell happened?" Burt asked. "Blaine...?"

Kurt ran up to his room leaving his father and Blaine at the door. Blaine look down and shoved his hands in his jacket pockets.

"Stuff went down at school... like I said, just make sure he's okay and I'll be back."

***********

Karovsky was alone putting his book in his locker.

"You hypocrite!" Blaine yelled.

"What the hell is wrong with you, Anderson?" Karovsky yelled back.

"You fucking kissed Kurt! You gay ass bitch!"

Karovsky shoved him into the lockers. "Watch your mouth!"

"You keep your mouth off Kurt!"

Blaine shoved him backwards. It wasn't long before Karovsky went insane on Blaine. By the time their fight was over, Blaine's makeup was ruined with sweat. He'd been weaker due to the excessive amount of blood being shed from his father.

Just as Karovsky was leaving, Blaine murmured something that made him stop. "You know you're not the only one."

******

"You didn't have to do all that..." Kurt whispered.

"Yes, I did. And I would do it again. He shouldn't have... done that..." Blaine says.

The movie was playing but neither one of the boys was watching. Kurt wasn't planning on sleeping that night and Blaine didn't want to go home to his typical drunken father.

They'd inched closer in Kurt's bed without realizing it and were now touching. Eventually, they were comfortable with Blaine's arm on Kurt's shoulder.

That's when Kurt felt just a little bit better. It was around 1am when Kurt truly feel asleep. Blaine tried to weasel out of his grasp but Kurt was clinging to him like as if he was teddy bear.

Of course, Blaine wouldn't dream of Kurt being woken up so he stuck it out till morning and snuck out. He couldn't imagine what his father would say and although he wouldn't admit it, he was petrified.

When Kurt woke up the next morning, there was a note on his night stand.

"See you tomorrow, Kurtie! ❤️"

It wasn't a note someone like Blaine would write. In fact, Blaine never wrote notes at all seeing as he used to think they were overrated but after finding out Kurt enjoyed them, he had a change of heart. It truly wasn't like Blaine, but that just made it all the more special.
