"Is he okay?!" Rachel panicked.

"Wait for it..." Kurt sighed.

A few seconds later, "I'm okay! I... I um... tripped..."

Rachel gave a confused to look.

"That just... happens around here?"

"He's been a bit of a klutz lately..."

It was true. Ever since he was kicked out, actually. He became anxious, but it didn't always show. Not to anyone but Kurt. Blaine hadn't fallen though.

He'd thrown his phone across the room as soon as he'd seen the next text.

Dad: You're mother wants you to come home

"Jack is going to win..." Blaine whispered.

Kurt turned to face him after waving goodbye to Rachel.

"No... why would you say that?"

"He knows me. He knows you. He knows us." Blaine panicked, gesturing between himself and his boyfriend.

"Oh come on... we just went over this..."

"Kurt..."

It was the tone Blaine had that caused Kurt to panic. It wasn't loud, or scary... It was cold, though. It was obvious his intentions, but Kurt wouldn't allow such a thought to enter his mind.

"If..." Blaine continued. "If we're... together-"

"No! No, no, no! There's no way! I won't let you do that!" Kurt panicked. "We just became friends again!"

"And look where it got us!"

"I... I thought we were happy..."

"We were... Kurt, it's not that I don't lo-... It's not that I don't like you anymore, but it's not safe..."

Kurt was silent then which immediately worried Blaine. There was nothing worse than silence. All the thoughts that you try to push away come right back to the surface and fill in the empty space. Or they did for Blaine anyway...

"Fine..."

****************

This was insane. What had he done?! He broke up with someone he now lived with! He was in his car driving to his dad's house to go see his mother. This was supposed to be an impossibility. Completely unimaginable! But no, here he was... And it was all his fault.

As he drove, he began to worry about Kurt's thought process. The way he looked before Blaine left nearly killed him. It was almost as if Karovsky had kissed him all over again.

It was mostly silent until Blaine turned the radio on. Anything to get his mind away from Kurt. Why was he going by himself?! He could've at least waited until he got this whole dad situation over with. He never thought he'd be this terrified.

It was Jack that he him scared. That had to be it... right? The song that came in the radio was one he'd heard before. And of course he was in the car... just like they always were when they heard this song.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ev-

Nope.

He wasn't about to put himself through that. No thanks. Be gone.

*********

When Blaine pulled up in the driveway of the semi-forgotten house, he closed his eyes. This was where he was kicked out... It was where his father had abused him. It was where he first realized why he was such a freaking idiot around Kurt...

"Blaine!" His father smiled.

What the hell?

The things that went through Blaine's head in that moment were straight up weird. Should he be scared? Was his mom around? Why is he smiling?!

"We've missed you! Your mother had been worried sick! You shouldn't ever run away like that again!"

"Run away...? What the-"

His voice quickly changed into a low growl.

"You ran away. Got it?"

When they walked into the house, he had the same fake smile plastered across his face. Blaine's mother was sitting near the kitchen table with her arms crossed.

"Blaine, why did you run away?"

"I-I did-"

"He was upset with me. Told a few lies but things are better now since we've been texting!" His father interrupted.

Blaine was beyond confused. All he wanted was Kurt right next to him telling him things would be fine. But of course, that wasn't happening anytime soon.

"Why was he upset with you?" His mother asked.

"Because of our addition to the family."

"What's going on?" The gelled boy questioned.

He got this horrible feeling in the pit of his stomach. He was terrified but not in the way you'd expect. He needed to understand. His father wasn't really going to be nice again. Who's this 'addition to the family?' They weren't really a family anything.

They were just people who were screwed up and couldn't be put back together. But everything stopped when he heard the voice. It chilled him to the bone, causing him to tense up and his eyes to grow wide.

"It's me, buddy!"
