The police were on their way. Blaine held Kurt close the entire time. Things seemed like it was going to be fine, but he was just waiting for someone to throw a curveball at him.

He remembered leaving the gun in the hall and panicked a little, hoping Jack wouldn't find it. He wished he wasn't so stupid. If he'd had any sense, he would've taken it and shot the lock.

It could've been over with that easily! Still, he had to look on the bright side. It was ending soon. Soon enough anyway. He could feel Kurt trembling against him.

"Kurt?"

"Y-yeah?"

"It's over. We'll be out of here soon."

Blaine tried to reassure him, but Kurt had the same thought process as him. He was just waiting for something to shatter their luck.

Sirens were heard, and Blaine started to regain feeling in his hands. They hurt like hell. His fingernails had dug cuts into his palms.

Gun shots were heard and then the door was just about knocked down. Kurt flinched, but Blaine simply grabbed his hand and ran him outside.

They could see officers struggling with Jack. He had the gun pointed in their direction, but so did they. As soon as Jack saw Blaine, he had the gun trained on his head instead.

He heard one last gun shot. Then he was confused. There was no pain. Absolutely none. He though Jack had shot him, but he quickly found out that wasn't the case when Kurt fell unconscious behind him.

***********

Blaine hadn't said a word. He'd been in the hospital for a while now. Things went too fast. The paramedics grabbing Kurt and yanking him away from Blaine, Jack being snuck up on from behind after trying to pull the trigger on himself, and then all the football kids running out of MadHouse.

He almost couldn't believe it was over. He saw Jack on the news in his hospital room. He'd been arrested for the murder of Azimio, and the kidnapping of 17 high school students.

It was just as well. Jack didn't feel human anymore. He knew he deserved it. After they caught him, he didn't even try to deny his actions. It wasn't like an attorney could get him out of it anyway.

Every Glee club kid was with Blaine waiting to hear results on Kurt's condition. He wasn't shot in the chest, which Blaine was overly happy about. He'd still been shot right through his arm, causing him to lose blood and fracture the bone.

He'd been put on so many pain killers, he probably felt like he was high. Blaine wasn't allowed to see him and that was killing him. Finn was mad at Blaine for getting him in this mess, but was quite sympathetic when he saw how lifeless Blaine looked.

He couldn't feel his face.

"Blaine?"

It was Karovsky. He'd passed out when he heard the sirens. Blaine didn't have time to feel bad for not going to get him. He didn't have time to care at that point.

"U-um they told me Jack shot Kurt..."

Blaine didn't respond to him.

"I'm really sorry..."

"Go away, Karovsky." Blaine finally said, his voice low and expressionless. "Just go away. I can't deal with anything else right now..."

Karovsky did as he was told, and left Blaine to get some space. He couldn't get the images out of his head. Burt and Carole screaming to see their son and the glee kids crying.

The craziest part was that he was supposed to be on trial right now. He was supposed to be telling some higher power that his father had hit him. He didn't know what would happen then.

He was only 16. All of this happened to him when he was just 16. The pain killers were doing just that, killing his pain. But only the physical pain. He could still feel emotions.

It was weird because in the moment of adrenaline, he couldn't feel anything. The countless wounds he encountered felt like absolutely nothing. He didn't know why he even needed the pain killers. He wished Jack had shot him instead.

All he wanted to do was see Kurt. He just wanted to make sure he hadn't killed the person that made him feel loved. He couldn't bring himself to cry anymore. It wouldn't do him any good anyway.

He wasn't sure who he would live with, which was the problem to begin with. He wanted to know where his mother was. She couldn't have missed all of this.

He hated how Kurt's parents cared so much and it was clear that his parents didn't even show up. What does that say about them? That they didn't care. Blaine's parents don't care about it.

Whatever Blaine thought. Who needs them

This chapter was depressing but also good cuz they're free. Any questions? I'll post again soon
