Chapter 31

Kurt didn't wake back up for a while. He'd never been punched that hard in his life. Blaine however, stayed awake the entire time Kurt was asleep. He was absolutely petrified of what was going to happen.

He knew he needed Kurt with him to get through it, though. He'd cried too many times in the past week. He'd gotten used to the horrible vulnerability at that point.

He started wondering if the other bullies from prom were there with Jack. He remembered them all.

Jack, Troy, and Samuel. He first saw Karovsky as a friend, then as a bully, and after hearing his current bully's whispering, sympathetic acquaintance. Karovsky was gay, he'd bet on his life Jack was gay because he couldn't think of any other reason, but he wasn't sure about Troy and Samuel.

He hadn't seen them in years. They stopped caring. Jack didn't. That's when the door swung open yet again. A boy was thrown inside with them. Speak of the devil.

Karovsky looked at Blaine and then to a passed out Kurt Hummel.

"Oh my god, did they kill him?! Are you okay?" He panicked.

"What the hell are you doing here, K?" Blaine cut him off.

"They know I'm gay... They think I'll spill."

"It's Jack, K. He's the boss around here."

"He's gay, isn't he?"

"That's my theory..."

A groggy Kurt opened his eyes, saw Karovsky and immediately shut his eyes again.

I'm dreaming. I have to be dreaming...

"W-what is he doing here?!" Kurt blurted out, pointing to Karovsky.

"He's on our side, Kurt..." Blaine soothes, scooting closet to him. "He better be."

Kurt looked back at Blaine who seemed completely ou of it. His curls flew all other the place, he was somehow sweaty even in the freezing room, and a permanent worried expression stayed on his face. On top of that his hands had been in painful fists for the past hour. The taller boy kissed Blaine for a little over three seconds. He could visibly see Blaine relax just a little.

"What was that for...?" Blaine whispered.

"I love you." Kurt said, ignoring his boyfriend's question.

Karovsky sighed. Just seeing them together made him wildly jealous. Of course, he wasn't about to make the same mistake twice. He'd just have to deal with it. He hoped Jack would come to the same realization.

***********

"He hasn't even acknowledged our existence since he left."

Finn and Rachel stood in  Dalton Academy asking the Warblers any and all questions they could think of.

"Nick found out on Insta that Blaine changed quite drastically." Wes informed Finn. "He turned into what you guys would call a 'badass.'"

"And Kurt?" Rachel asked.

"Who's Kurt?"

"My brother." Finn said. "He used to go here. He never wanted to join any clubs though..."

"Then we wouldn't know him. Check Mad House."

Sam chuckled.

"Why would Kurt or Blaine be in the Mad House? It's for kids!"

"Blaine used to like the Mad House. Not for the playground, but because behind the slides there was a room. He basically conquered that room for himself, convinced that no one else knew it existed. The rest of us figured it was for employees or something."

"But he told you guys?"

"No, we found him. I don't think he knows we know about it. He was pretty hungover when we discovered him inside the place. He probably forgot."

"Okay and where's this Mad House?"

************

"Shouldn't Kurt's phone be with Blaine's phone?" Mercedes thought out loud as they drive to the next spot. "You guys checked the house right?"

"Yes. It's probably somewhere around Kurt's collections..." Finn sighed.

"Collections?"

"His sweaters or complicated magic books about a dude with a scar on his head or tiaras...."

There was a short silence while the Gee club mentally appreciated Kurt's unique personality.

"Were here." Finn said before leaving the car, not bothering to wait for the others.

He walked up to the gate of Mad House only to be greeted by nearly a dozen police officers. Yellow tape surrounded the place, and Finn was not having it.

"What are you guys doing here?!" Finn yelled.

"This is a private investigation, sir..." One man politely said.

"Is it for Kurt?"

"Kurt Hummel? Yes, you must be his brother, Finn."

The others followed shortly behind.

"Well I did say we should let the police handle it." Quinn said, staring at them.

It didn't take long for Finn to march over to her, grab her flower-covered hat, and throw it straight into the crime scene.

"Finn!" Quinn gasped. "What the hell was that for?!"

The taller boy smiled, "Our way in. Somebody check in on Burt and Carole!"

**************

"So... Is there a bathroom in this place...?" Karovsky whispered.

"In the corner..." Blaine whispered back, cuddling closer to Kurt. "But please don't put us through that."

"No... That's not what I-  We can back up the pipes. Distract them for a while and find a way out."

"How do you plan on opening the door, Genius?"

"Well, you have a bobby pin, right?"

"No, why the hell would I have a bobby pin?"

"Because you guys carry all sorts of girly things. A bobby pin should be one of the-"

"Shut the fuck up before accidentally kill you. I would do it anyway if I didn't have a boyfriend."

Kurt had fallen asleep by that point, nuzzling his face into Blaine's chest. When he trembled even just a little from the cold, Blaine would pull him closer if that was even possible. Karovsky was shocked into silence. Blaine wasn't usually this hard core with him. Then again, he'd clearly been through a lot of shit, and they weren't exactly bros since he kissed Kurt. Jack sat chuckling at Blaine's words.

"He really does have a temper..." He thought out loud. "Seemingly only when Kurt is hurt..."

A boy stood behind Jack for a moment before stating something that jolted him back into reality.

"You have a temper 24/7."

Instantly, Jack whipped around and shot the gun in the boy's general direction. The bullet ran little ways to the left of him. Still, he passed out in fear. Azimio, who was watching from a few feet away, gasped.

Please, please, please just type in the code for the door already! I wanna go home.  Teen gays aren't that stupid, are they!?

The gunshot startled Karovsky and Kurt, while Blaine groaned. He'd heard gun shots before in his own home way too many times. He wasn't fazed. Chances were, it was a test shot. His father did it all the time. If his father didn't have the balls to kill him, then Jack definitely wouldn't. It took a few moments for him to notice Kurt hyperventilating.

Writing this is so much fun! I wonder if I'm upsetting my readers tho. Basically, torturing the protagonist is fun because then I get to make their love interest soothe them. Okay, maybe I sound insane for saying that, but I'm a writer and I think we can agree that we're all a lil nuts. Anyway, tell me what you guys think. Luv u all!
