When someone knocked on the door, Kurt groaned. He was in the middle of the best book of all time: Harry Potter.
When he opened the door and saw Karovsky, he almost yelled for Finn.
"I'm not here to hurt you!" Karovsky said, cupping his hand over Kurt's mouth.
For a moment Kurt couldn't stand the thought of Karovsky hand on his mouth and immediately slapped it away.
"What are you doing then?"
"Warning you... They're coming for you."
"Who?"
"Jack and Azimio and the whole football team!"
"That means you too... Wait, why would you give a heck?!"
"Because I know when I've gone too far. I'm not willing to follow anyone! Problem is..." He looked down. "The rest of the football team isn't so privileged. They're all following Jack and Azimio... And I think I know why."
"Well, why, Genius?" Kurt snapped.
He'd be lying if he said he wasn't tired of their life being screwed up. First it was Blaine's dad, then it was Blaine's badassness, then Jack, now Azimio too!
"Because Jack has a gun."
***************
Blaine picked up the steaming cups of caffeinated liquid. While he wished Kurt had come with him to the Lima Bean so they could enjoy them, he knew Kurt's job was important to him. What he didn't understand was why Kurt was so vague about the job.
"Okay, so non-fat mocha-"
"Yes, Blaine it's the same thing every time. I'm pretty sure you're gonna keep getting it right."
Blaine watched Kurt for a moment as he 'worked' typing away on his computer. He was silently wondering when they were gonna tackle the Jack situation, something Kurt definitely wouldn't bring up.
"So... Do you wanna watch a movie or something tonight?" Blaine asked instead. "I mean, we deserve a break, don't we?"
Kurt looked up from his computer to meet Blaine's eyes.
"Moulin Rouge?"
"Annie?"
"We'll see..." Kurt said, turning his attention back to the computer.
Blaine pouted in mock hurt. He got up, kissed Kurt on his cheek, and headed for their bedroom to reply to a certain unanswered text.
Blaine: I don't think I want to come back...
John: You and your faggy bitch are gonna get what's coming to you. I swear you won't be able to lock me up! No prison can!
Blaine quickly blocked his father, knowing he shouldn't have texted back. They'd be testifying in a week. He didn't think he'd be able to relax that night anymore.
************
"Gun?"
"Check."
"Football team?"
"They're... a bit iffy..."
"Well they'd better shape up or else check one and check two will combine." Jack looked straight into Azimios eyes. "You can tell them I mean that."
"Why are we doing this again...?"
"That is none of your business, newbie. Go get the others ready."
Azimio left quickly after that. Meanwhile, Kurt and Blaine were fighting.
"All I'm saying is that this can't be left alone! For all we know they're planning something right now! How can you care about your job in this situation!? Unless you're about to lose it, this is more important!"
"It's my job Blaine!" Kurt said hiding the email he was currently typing to one Dave Karovsky. "I can't just leave it alone!"
"Well then why can't I see it?"
"Because I don't want you to!"
"But why?! Are you hiding something from me?!" The words come out before he could stop them. "Are you cheating on me?!"
Silence. The email went through, and Kurt was frozen. For a few seconds, time seemed to slow as a knock on the door provided a brief distraction.
Blaine got up to get it. He walked toward the door, opened it and then jumped a foot back. Kurt stood as an immediate reaction to his boyfriend's fear.
In the doorway stood Jack, Azimio, and the entire football team. That wasn't what scared them though. What scared them was the shiny black object Jack had in his hand pointed directly at the gelled boy.
Blaine held his hands up, already beginning to sweat. Kurt ran to call 911 before a few footballers ran in and stopped him. They kept both boy's mouths covered. A few words escaped the blonde boys lips,
"Get in the car. Now."
