"Blaine?" Someone called.
"What now?!" Blaine snapped.
His blood ran cold when he found out who had said his name.
"I'm sure you if all people should know why I'm here. Where's your fairy? Did he leave you like the rest of your family?"
"No!"
"Oh but he probably did. Smart move."
Puck watched them for a moment before yelling at the blonde boy.
"Hey, what's your problem man?!"
"He's a fag! That's my problem! And you're probably one too! Always hanging out with them!"
"So what if I am?! Gay or not gay, I can still kick your ass so back off!"
Jack recoiled at the aggressiveness in Pucks tone. He wasn't used to that so he quickly chuckled to hide his fear.
"You've upped your game, Anderson." He laughed. "Don't worry, I'll bring friends next time."
With that, he left the room leaving Blaine with his head in his hands.
***********
"Kurt!" Rachel called. "That's the third time you missed your cue! What's wrong?"
"What? Nothing! I just- the song is weird...?" Kurt lies.
"It's from your favorite musical Kurt." Rachel said bluntly.
Kurt laughed, remembering being in the similar conversation with Blaine and Annie.
"It's Blaine."
Mercedes laughed from around the corner.
"Trouble in paradise?"
"Yes, actually... I'm worried about him. He's not safe! If his... friend tries to hurt him again just because he's gay I- what if I lose him?"
"Who's this friend of his?" Finn asked.
"Jack..." Puck growled.
"How do you know?" Sam asked, signaling everyone was now interested in Kurt more than the set list.
"Yeah, how do you know?" Kurt asked.
"He came by me and Blaine in the locker room earlier today. After football he was acting like some big shot. Blaine looked scared for the first time in forever, man."
"Are you worried, Puck?" Tina laughed.
"None of your business!" He lowered his voice. "Maybe..."
"Wait, so he goes to this school?!" Kurt panicked. "And Blaine didn't even think to tell me?!"
"He's got the whole football team under his blonde barbaric ways!" Finn realizes.
"Wait, you knew too?!" Kurt exclaimed.
"Well.. I mean I didn't know it was the same guy..."
"Why didn't he come after me in school..? Does he know I go here?"
"Either way y'all better get things straight before my gays get ambushed." Mercedes says.
"I thought you didn't like Blaine..." Kurt whispered.
"I didn't. But he likes you. All is forgiven."
Rachel rolls her eyes while Kurt Immediatley texts Blaine.
***********
Kurt: Blaine what happened with Jack?
Blaine: so Puck told you...
Kurt: no shit Sherlock
Blaine looked confusedly at the text. Kurt didn't usually reply like that. It seemed off.
Kurt: why didn't you tell me Jack goes to our school?
Blaine: I thought you knew
Kurt: Well I didn't
Blaine: sorry?
Blaine: Can we just give him what he wants?
Kurt: what does he want? When did he give us a choice?
Blaine: He wants money. That's usually what villains want right?
Kurt: he's a villain now?
Blaine: well he's not a hero
Kurt: don't offer him money if he doesn't ask for it. He'll just keep asking for more
Blaine: okay. What time does Glee end?
Kurt: when Rachel decided to shut up
Kurt: around 3:30
Blaine: Do you want to go to the Lima Bean after?
Kurt: sure!
Puck relaxed when he saw Kurt smile again. That's when Mr. Shue came in to see the Glee Club's progress.
*********
"You know my coffee order?" Kurt asked.
"Of course! We've only known each other for 8 years."
They both smiled.
"Technically, we weren't friends until 4th grade."
"And yet I remember you being toothless at the front of the classroom in first grade." Blaine laughed.
Kurt blushed. Remembering the younger version of himself was always good. He had his mother, his innocence, and he didn't have to deal with his sexuality just yet. Life was perfect then.
Suddenly, a worried expression covered his face.
"What's wrong?" Blaine quickly asked, a similar expression on his face.
"Is this ever going to be over?"
Blaine looked down at his coffee. He sighed.
"I wish I could tell you yes... But I don't know." He whispered. "I'm sorry... If I knew Jack was still waiting for revenge I would've found someone else to live with...."
"Don't talk like that, Blaine... At least we have each other, right? I wouldn't have wanted you to be all alone in this..."
It was Kurt's turn to sigh. He knew he had to tell Blaine at some point. It had been a week since the most insane dream Blaine ever had. Kurt had, in fact, called the police.
What he didn't know was what Blaine did.
"I called the police..." Kurt said.
He didn't dare look at Blaine. He already new he'd be upset. He just prayed that they wouldn't break up or anything. The lack of response from Blaine allowed every horrible thought to cross Kurt's mind.
Just when Kurt felt as if he'd suffocate, Blaine answered.
"M-me too...." Blaine said. "I don't really know why.. Or maybe I do but... we're having a trial next Saturday... I was gonna tell you later..."
"So am I coming or...?"
"I mean... you're definitely coming... I hope... but like to testify?"
"I'll only do it if you want me to, Blaine. Um... You do realize that the scars are proof?"
Blaine closed his eyes, his cheeks turning red.
"Yes..."
Kurt rubbed his shoulder and they remained quiet for the rest of coffee.
