"Kurt!" Rachel gasped, running toward her best friend.

"Hey...."

Kurt was happy to see her, but he was looking for someone else. Where was Blaine?

"I-Is Blaine okay?"

"Oh... he visited you when you were still unconscious. He left a little while after."

"What do you mean he left?! He doesn't have a home! There's no where for him to go!!"

"Calm down! I'm sure he's fine!" Finn tried to ease him but Kurt was way past the whole comfort deal.

He needed to find Blaine. He needed to know Blaine was okay. Meanwhile, said boy was walking along the streets of Lima, Ohio. It wasn't like he really knew where he was going.

He had promised himself one thing: He'd leave. He didn't want to put Kurt in anymore danger. Not only that, but Finn probably wouldn't have let him near Kurt anyway.

He's right

Blaine hated himself for putting Kurt through something so awful and harsh. The was Kurt's tears never dried, the way he looked completely broken even when he was smiling.

It was too much for him. He couldn't handle it and Blaine didn't want him to have to. Leaving was the best option. The only problem was where to go.

Where was some broke teenage badass gonna live?! He couldn't go home to whatever was left at his house. He had no clue what went down at trial since he was busy having a gun pointed at him.

He didn't want to find out. 9/10 they'd put him in foster care! He could never go to a place like that. So instead, he found himself under a bridge with his backpack as a pillow.

Maybe if he was lucky, he'd get a few minutes to think about where he could go.

*********a few weeks later*******

Kurt stood watching the letter. His arm was in a cast and he couldn't exactly move it, but at least he couldn't feel anything. He wanted to rip open the note and see what Blaine's mom had to say.

Finn had given it to him to give to Blaine before he knew he was no where to be found. He'd already tried calling, but of course there was no reply.

No matter how badly he wanted to move on, Blaine was holding him back. He wanted to move on with Blaine. Who else would understand the stress and ptsd he was going through?!

No one. He was still grateful that Rachel and Mercedes and all of his other glee friends were there for him, even if it wasn't exactly the same.

"Kurt?" Burt whispered, knocking on the hospital room door.

He'd startled Kurt out of his worrying thoughts. It had been days since their rescue. Kurt had been freed from the hospital, but he was almost scared to go.

What if he got ambushed? What if some other homophobic bully kidnapped him? Granted, Burt probably wouldn't let him leave the house for weeks but it still felt like social suicide.

Everyone would know him as that kid who got kidnapped. He had the scars to prove it; the bullet hole in his arm that would probably be there forever.

The worst part was the memories. The ones he knew he wouldn't forget. He closed his eyes for a moment and then quickly opened them again.

"Hey, d-dad."

"Are you ready to go home, now? We packed up all your stuff. Carole and Finn are in the car."

Kurt gave a glance to his hospital bed and nodded. As soon as he got home, he shoved the letter under about seven scarves in a drawer he kept his glee stuff in.

He spent most of his time in his room after. His family thought he needed some space. That was true. But what they didn't know was his thoughts on running away.

He had to find Blaine. There was no way he'd make it out of complete crippling depression if he didn't have his happy ending. He needed to at least say goodbye.
