"Blaine, are you okay?" Kurt whispered.
"Yes, I'm fine."
Kurt frowned when he saw the bruise beginning to form. On the contrary, Jack smirked.
"Look, nobody has to fight! You can go and be an ass hole somewhere else!" Blaine said through gritted teeth.
"Oh, so your scared of me now. That cool, I'm sure your fairy will enjoy a good beat down."
Kurt's eyes grew wide at those words. Blaine's hands returned to fists, beginning to dig into his skin.
"I swear to God, I'm not afraid of you." Blaine growled.
"Blaine..." Kurt whispered. "Let's just walk away..."
"Not until he gets put in his place."
"Or you get put in yours!" Jack laughed. "Being gay is just straight up disgusting. You had to have seen this coming. I mean, really. Why is this even legal?"
"Because it is! Why do you care? Don't you have anything better to do than harassing innocent couples?!"
Jack didn't have an answer for that, and grew angry as a result. He punched Blaine as hard as he could, making him double over in pain. He could feel the wind rushing out of his body leaving breathless.
"Oh, that's not what they mean when they say you take their breath away?" Jack laughed.
"Blaine!" Kurt gasped. "What the hell was that for?!"
"He was being a smart ass." Jack said calmly.
Kurt knelt down beside his boyfriend. Blaine's face was turning an alarming shade of red.
"Fuck..." he swore.
Jack, looking past them, noticed a security guard making his way over to them.
"Well anyway, bye fairies! I hope Blaine doesn't accidentally kill himself, being such a klutz. Or actually, if I'm being honest, I hope you do."
He quickly fled, leaving Blaine and Kurt alone. Kurt picked up on the officer moments later and led Blaine away from possible questioning. They went straight to their car and Kurt drove them home. On the way there, he could see Blaine becoming increasingly upset.
Kurt had tried to hold Blaine's hands but his fingers stayed locked in place. When they got there, Burt had asked Kurt how his day was. His eyes were quickly drawn to a very unstable Blaine Anderson.
Kurt gestured to his father that it wasn't good time and led Blaine upstairs with one hand on his shoulder. As soon as they got up there, Blaine started punching a pillow.
"Hey, hey, hey!" Kurt exclaimed. "It's fine. He went away!"
"He'll be back!" Blaine yelled, punching the cushion harder.
"Blaine, its okay. Stop punching it."
But Blaine refused as his nails dug deeper into his hands. He eventually stopped when Kurt started massaging his shoulders. He was panting, but slowly calming down.
His eyes were closed but his hands were still in painful fists. Kurt noticed this and began to try to pry his fingers apart. It took some effort, but when he did, he noticed the blood.
"Blaine, you... your bleeding..."
"I am? I thought I'd just have a bruise..."
"No, on your hands. I... did you just not notice or...?"
"That just happens when I get mad. It's just a thing, it's not gonna kill me. I'm fine."
Kurt gave a worried look before rubbing his thumb over Blaine's.
"Babe... do you always get that mad?"
"No... just around him..."
"Why him?"
Blaine didn't respond. He wished he hadn't told Kurt that last bit of information. Kurt wrapped his arms around him from behind and rested his head on Blaine's shoulder. Blaine momentarily blushed at this.
"H-he just... he's not the nicest guy in the world..." Blaine breathed.
Kurt started pressing soft kisses down his neck which was literally something Blaine had never experienced. Kurt wasn't going to lie, he wasn't not enjoying what he was doing. But he also knew that it that it was practically the only way to get Blaine to talk sometimes.
"St-stop! We're at your house, Kurt! Your freaking dad is home!" Blaine shook his head. "I can't believe I just said that... I'm turning into a mom."
That word had an affect on both Kurt and Blaine. Kurt's mother entered his brain leaving him motionless next to Blaine. Blaine pictured the woman that was in and out of his house all the time. He suddenly wondered if he'd ever see her again.
They were both in a daze for a moment until Kurt left Blaine's body. The warmth left him, causing the gelled boy to shiver.
"Kurt-? I'm sorry, wa-"
"I'm not upset with you... I just thought about something..." he closed his eyes. "I haven't thought about my mom in a while..."
"Same..."
"Wait... what?"
Blaine hadn't realized he'd said that out loud. They stared at each other for a moment before hearing the small click indicating the hallway lights had been turned off.
Kurt stole a glance to the window to find it was pretty late. His father was going to bed. Blaine pleaded with his eyes telling Kurt he didn't want to leave his boyfriend's bedroom yet.
"So... do you want to watch a movie?" Blaine asked.
"Oh... yeah, sure!"
Blaine took his spot laying at the back of the bed. He patted the seat next to him so Kurt sat next to him. During the movie, they moved subconsciously closer to each other until Blaine was basically caressing Kurt.
That was about the moment they began to doze off and the nightmares began...
