"lapis?" peridot asked

lapis had been quiet the whole day. this was not uncommon for lapis, as she often kept to herself, but peridot still worried.

"are you okay?"

lapis continued to ignore her.

lapis was on her hammock and peridot was on the ground level. peridot did not pry further.

if something was wrong, lapis would tell her on her own time.

cut to nighttime.

lapis was asleep in her hammock. peridot was asleep on the couch. she fell asleep watching her favorite show, camp pining hearts.

lapis woke up in a dark, green tinted room.

where am i? she thought to herself

she looked down at her hands. there were water chains attached to her hands. she was standing on a platform of water.

malachite? she thought to herself, her heart dropping.

i thought we unfused

she lost her focus and fell under the water as jasper rose up. she quickly fought against jasper and made her way back to surface.

suddenly, she woke up in a panic. she felt cold and a little sick. she curled into a ball and started crying.

she was shaking a lot.

peridot woke up.

she looked around and saw her friend.

she quickly went up to lapis, sitting next to her on the hammock. she held lapis close.

"it's okay" she whispered to her friend

lapis shook her head.

"i thought... i thought that after we unfused... it was over... that it was finally okay..." lapis whispered, scared.

peridot, not entirely sure of what to say, just ran her fingers through lapis' hair in an attempt to calm her down.

"well, it may not be okay right now, but it will be" peridot whispered. lapis visibly relaxed.

"wanna watch camp pining hearts? i just got to season 9" peridot offered

"i'd like that"
