21st Fall
I immediately notify the staff that handled my admission in MIA New York. I sent them a message before I got to the plane. I already have a dorm in the campus ready for my stay. But their offer is so good. Hindi na ako mag aabala pa.
After the 17 hours flight, I finally had the chance to step out of the plane. I inhaled the cold air of New York. Iba ang simoy ng hangin dito. I can already see a lot of tall and magnificent towers around the airport.
I am bit scared of the foreign area. Pero nilakasan ko na lamang ang loob. I have to do this.
Everything was a blur afterwards. They let me settled in for a day. Pagkatapos ay sumunod ang orientation sa akin, I even meet the dean of the department. The staff was with me for about two days.
My first Monday came in. I was checking everything inside my bagpack. My ipad, which was the preferred notebook here, my laptop, my schedule and the map of the campus.
Believe me, this campus is thrice larger than the MIA back in the Philippines.
But luck is probably with me, I found my first class instantly. Ofcourse, I'm new and I gained their attentions.
"Albrecht, right?"
It was a girl with dark red hair. I can instantly felt the power and superiority in her aura.
"Welcome to MIA New York, Engineering department. I'm Olivia Prior, the council president."
"I'm Amara Vallerie Albrecht... 19... uhm,"
I felt really awkward. Hindi ko kasi alam ang sasabihin. We shake our hands a bit. Binigyan niya ako ng tipid na ngiti. It's like a politician smile, you can't say if it's genuine or not.
"You can approach me anytime. Have a good time here!" Sabi pa nito bago umalis.
Okay. That was really awkward. Maybe because she's not socially awkward like me. At tsaka president siya, she should be confindent all the time.
I would just find the council room if ever. Napalingon ako sa babaeng katabi ko. She gave me a smile so I did the same.
The students inside the room went quiet. She's probably the professor for this subject.
