"Come on Y/N!" Your brother Soda yelled from downstairs.
"I'm comin!" You yelled back. You finished putting on your lipgloss and took one last look at yourself in the mirror.
You were wearing a black spaghetti strap dress- his favorite color. It was short but not too short, just the way he liked it. You knew your boyfriend like the back of your hand. And tonight was his birthday.
You rushed down the stairs in your silver high heels and got multiple wolf whistles from the boys downstairs. Thank God Darry wasn't home.
"Glory Y/N.." Steve said shielding his eyes.
"Dally is one lucky bastard!" Two Bit laughed.
"Awe shut up you two. He likes this dress!" You snapped back.
   "I'm sure he does.."
   "STEVE!"
Your bickering was interrupted by Soda walking through the front door with the keys. He eyed your short black dress and sighed.
"Let's get goin then." He said, leading you to the car. The boys made kissing and other... eh.. grotesque sounds as you walked out the door.
"Would you be quiet!" Soda yelled over his shoulder.
You could still hear Two Bit laughing inside while you climbed in Soda's car. You buckled up, not remembering the utmost important thing about tonight.
As he pulled out the driveway you screamed.
    "Shit!"
"What is it!" Soda yelled, panicked.
"I forgot his present!" You said, climbing out of the car. You ran upstairs and retrieved the wrapped up package from your nightstand. You ran back to the car as fast as your heels would allow, dodging the confused looks from the gang.
"Sorry!" You said quickly to Soda as you climbed back in the passengers side.
"It's alright kiddo.." he laughed. "What'd you get him anyway?" He asked pulling out of the driveway. You grinned. You'd been waiting for this question.
"Well everything in here is meant to represent the night we met. I got the same kind of whiskey he got me when we met at the bar. Then some cigarettes because he had a smoke afterwards. Then we went to the drive in. He got us both suckers and he actually payed for them.." you laughed to yourself and looked out the window. "I found the same kind and put them in here. And I know he doesn't read much but we got to looking at the stars on the way home. He asked me about the constellations so I got him a map of those. I thought maybe we could find them together this time." You said quietly.
"Wow, Seems like you really thought this through." He said with a smile. "I'm not even going to ask how you bought whiskey at sixteen."
"Yeah you'd better not." You said. It was quiet for a moment. You looked at the clock. 9:53pm. You were supposed to be at Bucks by 10.
"You really love him don't you?"
     Sodas words surprised you.
"Yeah... I do." You frowned. "I just don't know if he feels the same..."
Dally was a tough one to get through. You knew his reputation. Everyone in town did. You weren't afraid though, and he liked that about you.
You'd been good at hiding your emotions since your parents died, but it was so hard around Dallas. You admired the person he was. You lived for the moments that you could spend together. He loved them too, you just weren't sure if he loved you like you loved him.
"Don't worry about it." Soda said. "He's lucky to have you. He needs you Y/n." You nodded. For now that would have to be enough.
You held tight to his present and sighed.

***

"I'll pick you up at 3, okay?" Soda said as you got out of the car.
     "Yep!"
"And hey." He said rolling down the window. "Please don't get pregnant."
"Soda!" You yelled rolling your eyes. "I'm going now!"
"Promise me!" He yelled from the car.
"Fine! Okay! Now get out of here." You laughed. You made sure his car was out of sight before walking to the front door.
You opened the door and let yourself in. People filled the bar and rooms just like every night. The red and blue light gave you a headache but tonight you didn't care. You walked up the counter and found Buck. He jumped at the sight of you.
"Oh! Y/n! You're here.. hi!" He said fiddling with the keg on the counter.
"Uh hey Buck.. have you seen Dallas?" You asked. Buck seemed nervous. Or stoned. Or both.
"You know what I think he went out to uh.. get more beer." He said. "Yeah that's where he went." His eyes were darting around the room. You could tell he really didn't want to be having this conversation.
"Are you sure cause he was s'posed to meet me here. Today is his birthday."
"Yeah I'm sure. Look I gotta go upstairs someone is passed out and I really don't feel like calling an ambulance." He said, leaving the bar hurriedly. Weird.
You guessed you'd have to find Dally by yourself.
You asked around the bar but no one knew where he was. Same thing in the pool room. No one had heard from him.
You decided to check his room. He'd normally be out on a night like this but sometimes he liked to be alone.
That's the thing about Dallas, he was unpredictable.
You went upstairs, mentally preparing yourself for whatever weird mood Dally was in tonight.
You knocked on his door. "Dallas?" You said. You heard shuffling inside but there was no reply. Maybe he'd fallen asleep?
You opened the door slowly and peered inside. "Dal-"
He shot up from his bed.

So did the girl beside him.

   You slammed the door shut.

   "Fuck."

The plot holes- I'm sorry. I'm working on part two as well
