Good morning ☀️ . I didn't die from the Advil party I had last night so here's the ending. I decided to just do the sad one since that's what was requested.
Your feet scuffed on the cement, nearly sending you flat on your face.
"Uhg!" This was the worst day of your life. Your ankle throbbed. Your shoes were long abandoned. And your boyfriend cheated on you with a girl who was ten times prettier.
What was her name anyway? Probably something bitchy like Susan or Melissa. She looked like a soc.
"No.." you stopped yourself and sighed. She was probably a really nice girl. It was just Dal who decided he wanted better than you.
"Damn you Dallas.." you mumbled to yourself.
You'd been walking for a little over 20 minutes now. At least that's what it felt like. It'd probably been 5.
The park was coming closer as you walked. It was greaser territory so no socs could come through and jump you. Oh what would they find anyway? You were just a sad girl in a dress.
You weren't exactly thinking straight because of your broken and battered brain, but sitting in the park seemed like a nice idea. The sadness in your chest needed some relief.
You got to the jungle gym and climbed up as best you could. You didn't even mind your ankle now. All you could feel was the dumb weight on your heart. It demanded your attention. You sighed, laying back so you could see the stars above you.
Why weren't you enough for him?
Did he really love you or was he just very good at acting?
All the good times you two had had in the past year. He only ever got mad when you were in danger. He never wanted you to be afraid of him. And you weren't afraid. Deep down you couldn't even be mad. That girl was probably better than you in every way. You never deserved Dally.
Tears rolled down your face as you choked back a sob.
"Oh screw it!" You said, voice cracking. You let yourself cry. And I mean REALLY cry.
The ice cold jungle gym dug into your back. You'd never get through this. You loved Dallas so so much. You loved the smell of his leather jackets. You loved the stares you got in town and the mutters of "thats Dal's girl ain't it." You loved how you got to see a side of him that no one else could see. You wanted everyone to see him how you saw him.
In your eyes he was perfect. And now no one would ever know. Because that blonde girl in his bed? She could never see what you saw. And your brothers would never care to look past his tough exterior. None of his friends could. It wasn't something you'd go looking for, it's something he showed you. And he'd shown you.
All you could hear was the sound of your echoing cries. You didn't care who heard. You didn't care.
You closed your eyes and the tears stopped. You felt like there were more but your body was probably out of water by now. You sighed.
Where the pain of your ankle or busted up feet should have been, was instead the overwhelming pain in your chest. You couldn't get up from the jungle gym if you tried.
You were breathing real slow and you could feel your heartbeat in your chest. It was fast, but over time it got slower.
Every muscle in your body told you to fight. To get up and go home. You knew you were dying. But you stayed. What was the point in going home now?
Your heart was a little too slow now. Beating every so often like it was giving up too. What would be your cause of death anyway? Hypothermia? Overdose? Heartbreak?
The pain in your chest was all you could feel now. Had someone come over and started stabbing you? It sure felt like it.
The pain overtook all of your senses.. for a while. But it was over as quickly as it started. Then it was over.
It was over.
