Time flew so fast and now it's finally their summer vacation. Every student's favorite part. Just a month before the summer vacation, Mingyu and Wonwoo have already told their friends about their relationship. Some of them didn't expect it because they thought Wonwoo was a straight guy. But all in all, they're happy for the new couple in their group of friends.
Tonight, Mingyu and Wonwoo have decided to tell Wonwoo's parents about their relationship, so they set a dinner with Wonwoo's parents. Both of them feel so nervous. Even though Wonwoo knows how kind and generous his parents are, he's still not sure and feel nervous about what will be the reaction of his parents.
The couple are already in the restaurant where they have set a dinner. Just a few moments, Wonwoo's parents came and greeted them. Wonwoo hugged his parents as he greeted them, while Mingyu had shake hands with Wonwoo's parents. He tried his best to not look nervous.
After the greeting, they all sat and started talking while the food is being served.
"So, what's the occasion? why did you guys set a dinner with us?" Mrs. Jeon asked curiously.
"Uhm, actually, there's no occasion... it's just we have something to tell you but let's talk about other things first before we tell it to you." Mingyu said calmly to Wonwoo's mother who's sitting across them.
"Oohh, okay then." Mrs. Jeon said and they started digging into their food.
When they're almost done, Mr. Jeon coughed to get the attention of the three. "So, can we talk about it now?" He asked.
Wonwoo and Mingyu glanced at each other. Mingyu gave his boyfriend a smile to make him less nervous.
Wonwoo gulped nervously and sad, "Mom, Dad... First of all, I am sorry for hiding this to you. I am just so afraid that you might disown me."
"Wonwoo, we are never going to disown you. You are our son. We love you and support you whoever you are." Mrs. Jeon said to his nervous son.
"You look so nervous, son. What is it you're going to tell us though? What is it about?" Mr. Jeon said.
Wonwoo sighed and Mingyu suddenly intertwined their hands under the table. Wonwoo looked at him and gulped nervously.
"You can do it." Mingyu whispered to Wonwoo and squeezed their hands. Wonwoo just nodded and put his attention back to his parents.
Wonwoo heaved a sigh and said, "Mom, Dad... I am gay and... Mingyu's actually my boyfriend."
Wonwoo's parents looked at each other and laughed. Wonwoo and Mingyu nervously looked at them with eyebrows furrowed.
"Mom, Dad... Why are you laughing? I am not joking. It's true!" Wonwoo said.
"We know, son. That's only what you're going to say?" Mr. Jeon said.
"Uhm, yeah." Wonwoo shrugged.
"I am really your son's boyfriend. We've been dating for months now." This time, Mingyu spoke. "May I know the real reason why you laughed?"
"Oh, it's just because why are you telling this now? We knew it for a long time before you told us." Mrs. Jeon said.
"You knew all along? Who told you?" Wonwoo asked curiously. He thought some of his friends told his parents.
"Yeah, and no one told us. Your mother and I just figured it out ourselves." Mr. Jeon said and smiled to his son.
"Every time Mingyu goes to our house to finish school projects or homework with you, we can see how you look at and treat each other well." Mrs. Jeon said. "There was also a time we caught you kissing in my son's bedroom but we didn't disturb you because I don't want to ruin the moment." She giggled.
Wonwoo and Mingyu blushed and looked away to hide their blushing face from Wonwoo's parents. Wonwoo's parents can't help but laugh at the cuteness of their son and his boyfriend.
"Aww. It's okay. Don't be shy." Mr. Jeon said and took the glass of water beside his plate to take a sip.
Wonwoo looked at his parents and asked, "Is it really fine with you that I'm in a relationship with a guy? Not with a girl?"
"Yes, Wonwoo. It doesn't really matter to us. As long as you don't harm people, there's nothing wrong about it." Mrs. Jeon said and gave her son a warm smile.
"Your mother's right. We can't control your feelings and we don't even want to. That's your life. As long as you're happy, it's really fine with us." Mr. Jeon told his son who has teary eyes now.
Wonwoo is so thankful to have a kind-hearted parents. He still can't believe that his parents accept him for being in a relationship with the same gender as him. He was expecting some arguments or yelling but it didn't happen. He doesn't even want to happen that though.
"Th-thank you..." Wonwoo said and tears rolled down on his cheeks.
"Why are you crying?" Mrs. Jeon asked and pouted her lips.
"I'm just happy... and thankful." Wonwoo smiled. Mingyu then pulled his boyfriend into a hug and caressed his back.
"Just promise me one thing, Kim Mingyu."
Mr. Jeon's words made Mingyu look at him. "What is it, s-sir?" He asked, tried his best to not sound nervous.
Mr. Jeon chuckled and said, "Don't call me sir. Just call me dad. It's seriously fine." Mingyu just nodded as his response.
"Anyway, what I'm going to say is..." Mr. Jeon cleared his throat first before he continued. "Promise me to not hurt my son."
"I promise." Mingyu said as he tightened his hug to Wonwoo.
After the dinner, Mingyu have decided to sleep at Wonwoo's house tonight, so he called his parents to tell them that he won't be coming home tonight and will be back the next morning.
The couple immediately went to Wonwoo's bedroom and changed their clothes into comfortable one. They lied down together on Wonwoo's bed and moved closer to each other. Mingyu wrapped his arms around Wonwoo's waist and hugged him tightly.
"Good night, my love." Mingyu said and pecked Wonwoo's lips.
