CHAPTER • 22

Wonwoo got woken up by his phone ringing on his bedside table. He carefully removed Mingyu's arms around his waist to reach his phone on the table to answer the call. He sat on the edge of the bed and lazily answered the call without taking a look of the caller ID.

"Hello?"

"Happy birthday, Wonwoo!" The cheerful Junhui greeted happily.

"Oh, Junhui! It's you. Thank you!"

"Of course, it's me. This is my number. Who else do you expect? Don't tell me you haven't saved my number on your phone. We've been friends for months!"

"Oh, it's saved here. Don't worry. It's just I answered the call without taking a look at the caller ID." Wonwoo chuckled.

"Oohhh... So, what are your plans for today? Are you going out?"

"Well, uhh... I don't know." Wonwoo glanced at Mingyu's sleeping figure and immediately looked away. "Honestly, I haven't planned anything."

"Why? You should go out and enjoy your birthday. It will really be boring if you're just at home without doing anything."

"Yeah, it's true... Maybe my parents have a surprise? They love to surprise me though."

"That's cute." Jun laughed softly. "Anyway, I have to go now. I don't know if I have told you already but I have enrolled to an acting workshop this summer."

"Really? That's good. Good luck, Wen Junhui!"

"Thanks! Enjoy your birthday."

"I will. Bye!"

The call ended.

"Who's that?" Mingyu, who's rubbing his eyes, asked as he sat up on the bed.

"Oh, it's Junhui." Wonwoo answered and looked at his handsome boyfriend who just woke up.

"Why did he call you? Something up?"

Wonwoo was about to tell Mingyu that Jun just greeted him a happy birthday but he decided not to tell it. He doesn't want to mention anything about his birthday because he wants to see if Mingyu will remember his birthday.

"Oh... He just told me that he enrolled to an acting workshop this summer." Wonwoo smiled.

"Really? That's nice." Mingyu yawned. "At least, he got something to do this summer. He won't get bored."

"Yeah..." Wonwoo smiled.

"Where's my morning kiss?" Mingyu suddenly asked out of nowhere.

Wonwoo rolled his eyes and said, "I should be the one getting that." He sighed.

"You'll get yours. Kiss me first."

Wonwoo then moved closer to his boyfriend and gave him a peck on the lips. Mingyu did the same.

"Get up. Let's eat breakfast together." Wonwoo said coldly and walked out of the room.

Mingyu wasn't taken aback at Wonwoo's sudden coldness. It's really part of his plan that he will pretend that he forgot Wonwoo's birthday. He laughed softly at his boyfriend actions. Wonwoo must be sulking right now because Mingyu didn't remember his birthday.

"Oh, Jeon Wonwoo. Don't be sad. I'll take you somewhere today." Mingyu said as he stood up from the bed and fix himself before going to the kitchen.

Mingyu and Wonwoo's breakfast was so quiet. Mingyu was observing his boyfriend while they're eating. He noticed that Wonwoo isn't even looking at him and his attention is just on the food.

Mingyu finished his breakfast first. When he's done, he went back to Wonwoo's bedroom to take a bath and prepare what he has planned for his boyfriend's birthday. It's just simple though. He'll just take Wonwoo to an amusement park. After he took a bath, he wore comfortable clothes for their date today.

Wonwoo helped his mother to clean the kitchen after he finished his breakfast. He still feel sad that his boyfriend didn't remember his birthday.

"I guess I'll just celebrate it myself." Wonwoo thought to himself.

Mrs. Jeon noticed Wonwoo's sad face. "Why are you sad? You should be happy. It's your birthday." She said.

"It's just... I think Mingyu forgot that today's my birthday." Wonwoo sighed.

Mrs. Jeon smiled. She knows Mingyu has a plan that he will take Wonwoo out to an amusement park. Mingyu told her last night.

"Why don't you just take a bath and get yourself ready? You're going out today, aren't you?"

Wonwoo's mood somehow brightened. He looked at his mother and said, "I knew it. You're going to take me somewhere! I know you, mom. You love to surprise me." He chuckled.

"Just get yourself ready now. Right now." Mrs. Jeon winked at her son.

Wonwoo then went back to his room and saw Mingyu, who's sitting on the edge of his bed, has already dressed up. He looked at his boyfriend with a confused look.

"You're going with us too?" He asked.

"It's just the two of us, Wonu." Mingyu said.

"Huh? Wha-"

"Stop asking and get yourself ready. We'll be leaving in thirty minutes." Mingyu didn't let his boyfriend finish his sentence. Wonwoo didn't say anything and just went to the bathroom.

After Wonwoo dressed up, he went to the living room and saw Mingyu and his mother talking to each other. The two stood up when they saw Wonwoo approaching.

"So, I guess you're ready to leave now." Mrs. Jeon said and looked at her son then to Mingyu. "Take care of yourselves. Don't go too far from here. Tell me if you will be going to other places besides from Everland, okay?"

Mingyu nodded as his response to Wonwoo's mother. Wonwoo looked at Mingyu then his mother with confused look. "Everland? The ticket price there is expensive."

Mingyu put his hand on Wonwoo's waist and moved him closer to him. "Don't worry, love. This is my gift for you." He then kissed Wonwoo's cheek.

Wonwoo can't help but blush. He really thought that Mingyu forgot about his birthday. He just found out Mingyu has planned something for him.

"I th-thought you forgot about my birthday." Wonwoo mumbled and looked down. Mingyu still heard what he said.

Mingyu laughed at his boyfriend's cuteness and pinched his cheek with his free hand. "I won't forget your birthday. It's just really part of my plan."

Wonwoo rolled his eyes and crossed his arms on his chest. "Whatever." He said.

Mingyu and Mrs. Jeon just laughed at him.

"I think we should go now, so we could enjoy lots of rides." Mingyu said as he looked at his wristwatch to check the current time.

"Sure. Enjoy, lovebirds!" Mrs. Jeon giggled and bid goodbye to the boys.

Mingyu opened the car door for Wonwoo. Wonwoo thought his boyfriend has brought his own car but he realized it is his father's car. Wonwoo hopped inside the car and waited for Mingyu to do the same.

"Does my father know that we'll bring his car?" Wonwoo asked.

"Of course, yes. I asked him last night if I could borrow his car because I'm going to take you somewhere for your birthday today. He allowed me to. He just let me and didn't asked further questions." Mingyu said happily.

"Kim Mingyu, if something's going to happen to the car, I swear you-"

Mingyu didn't let his boyfriend finish his words by kissing his soft lips. Wonwoo can't help but kissed back.

"I drive safely. Don't you trust me?" Mingyu said when they both pulled out from the kiss, pressing their foreheads.

"Of course, I trust you." Wonwoo smiled and pecked his boyfriend's lips.

The couple then settled down. Mingyu started the car and finally made their way to the amusement park.
