It's been a week since Mingyu and his father had an argument about Mingyu being gay and having a boyfriend. Mingyu has already told Wonwoo about what happened between him and his father. Wonwoo felt sad when he found out that his boyfriend's father disagrees to their relationship but he hopes that his mind would change. Just give him time to think and accept the reality.
Mingyu always tries to talk to his father but his father ignores him. If he gets a chance to talk to him, it always ends up in an argument. Mingyu honestly can't take it anymore but he's desperate to make everything better. He can't just give up and let his father hate him for having a boyfriend.
Today, Wonwoo have decided to come over to Mingyu's house without telling his boyfriend. He has bravely decided to talk to Mingyu's father and hoped everything will be better. It will also be Wonwoo's first time meeting Mingyu's father.
It was 3 in the afternoon when Wonwoo arrived at his boyfriend's house. He sighed nervously before he pushed the doorbell. Just a few seconds, the door opened and it revealed Mingyu's mother.
"Hello, Wonwoo. What brings you here? Mingyu's not here."
"Good afternoon, Mrs. Kim. Actually, I came here for Mingyu's father. Is he there?" Wonwoo chuckled nervously.
"Oh... Yeah. He's here. Why are you looking for him though?" Mrs. Kim asked curiously.
"I just want to talk to him if it's okay?" Wonwoo smiled.
"Oh, sure... Come in." Mrs. Kim said as she opened the door widely for Wonwoo to come inside.
"Uh, Mrs. Kim, may I ask where Mingyu is?" Wonwoo asked as he entered the living room with Mingyu's mother.
"Oh, I don't really know. He just told me that he'll get some fresh air." Mrs. Kim said and shrugged. "By the way, don't be so formal. Just call me auntie or mom."
"Oh... Sure, auntie." Wonwoo said shyly as he scratched his nape.
"You want to grab something? Water? Juice?"
"No, auntie. I'm good."
"Are you sure?"
Wonwoo just nodded shyly as his response to Mingyu's mother. He just really want to talk to Mingyu's father right now even thought he's so nervous. Mrs. Kim then left to call her husband.
Just a few moments, Mr. Kim is already in the living room and greeted Wonwoo a good afternoon. Mrs. Kim left the two for awhile to talk comfortably.
"Have a sit." Mr. Kim said as he sat on the couch across Wonwoo. Wonwoo then did the same.
"So, you must be Jeon Wonwoo? Your face is familiar. I've seen your face from my son's pictures." Mr. Kim started the conversation.
"Yes, sir." Wonwoo answered nicely. He tried his best not to sound and look nervous in front of Mingyu's father.
"Hmm, why did you come to see me though?" Mr. Kim asked curiously.
"I just want to talk to you..." Wonwoo said nicely and smiled.
Mr. Kim scoffed and said, "Talk about what?"
There was a moment of silence. It took a few seconds before Wonwoo could speak. Honestly, he feels so nervous and doesn't know how to start their conversation.
"Do you love Mingyu?" Wonwoo asked.
Mr. Kim's eyebrows furrowed and answered, "Of course, yes. He is my son. Why do you ask?"
"If you love him, why don't you give him a freedom, so he would be happy?" Wonwoo bravely asked in a nice way.
"What are you talking about? I let him do what he wants, I let him buy things what he wants, I even let him choose his school where he wanted to study. Is not that freedom? Is he still not happy with those?" Mr. Kim asked who's now getting annoyed to Wonwoo.
"That's not what I'm talking about, sir... Why don't you let him date the person he loves?" Wonwoo asked, not breaking eye contact with Mingyu's father.
Mr. Kim scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Are you insane?! I let him date who he likes. I just let him date YOU! Even though I really don't like it."
"Yes, sir. You let him date me but you're still against our relationship... Why?"
Mr. Kim heaved a deep sigh and crossed his arms on his chest. He looked at Wonwoo with cold expression and asked, "Because I want Mingyu to marry a woman because he is a MAN!"
"I care because I love him, sir. Why can't you just accept the reality? Accept our relationship, so he... we would be happy?"
Mr. Kim didn't say anything. He broke eye contact with Wonwoo and wandered his eyes around the living room. He needs more time to think and accept everything.
"Leave." He blurted out.
"S-sir..?"
"I SAID LEAVE!" Mr. Kim shouted angrily which made Wonwoo startled on his seat. Wonwoo stood up and bowed before he made his way out of the house. He didn't get a chance to bid his goodbye to Mrs. Kim because he got too scared of Mingyu's father.
Wonwoo was about to take a taxi to get home quickly but his phone rang and saw his boyfriend's name on the screen. He then answered it.
"Hey Mingyu! What's up?"
"Are you busy? Come to the Hangang Park. I'm here."
"No, I'm not busy... Do you need anything else? I'll buy it for you before I get there."
"I don't need anything right now, love..." Mingyu said with his tired voice.
"Are you sure? You sound not okay..." Wonwoo said worriedly.
"I'm okay... Don't worry that much."
"How would I not worry? You sound really not okay..."
"I only need you, Jeon Wonwoo."
"I'm on my way there."
Wonwoo ended the call and waited for a taxi to come for him to get quickly to the destination. To his boyfriend. Mingyu seems so down because of his voice which Wonwoo has noticed earlier. Wonwoo got worried and thought that maybe something's bothering his boyfriend again.
