CHAPTER TWELVE
❛We're just friends!❜
The day that the students left for the holiday, Hope Lupin-Black sat in the Great Hall eating the breakfast feast that was prepared. She was slightly saddened that she was leaving her friends for a few weeks.
To brighten her day, George Weasley took the empty seat next to her with a wide smile on his face. He took a few pancakes and put them on his plate as he asked. "Are you excited to go home?"
"I do miss my family, but the friends here are nice," Hope told him, pushing the last bites of food around her plate. "I miss my Papa and Grandfather a bunch."
"You're lucky," added George with a shrug of his shoulders. "I don't have anyone in my family that I'd wanna see that much. Well, besides Fred, but I've always got him around. We're twins."
Hope nudged him in the side as she insisted. "Come on, we both know that your parents are amazing. You'll never find more loving people."
"True, true, but that many siblings under one roof?" he pointed out, letting out a dramatic sigh. "The summer is more than enough time for me."
She laughed along, knowing that the Weasley's home was a crowded place with people around at all times, but she loved it so much more than her own home. There was a warm feeling and the siblings were always doing something fun with one another, it felt like a true home.
George found himself letting out a nervous breath as he stared at his friend. "Since your birthday is gonna be tomorrow. I had to get you a gift."
"George," Hope let out a gasp. "You didn't have to get me anything."
"I know, but I wanted to."
He handed her a package that was wrapped awfully in yellow paper. When she opened it, there was a book entitled. 'How Not to Get Angry by George Weasley' Hope found herself laughing hard at the title before she gave him a hug.
"Thank you, George, really," she said while she admired the cover. "It's great art, really."
From behind them, Fred Weasley, Lee Jordan, and Henry Hammond had strolled over and sat across from the two. Fred eyed his twin and their friend as he asked. "Do you guys forget that I'm in the dorm too? You could've invited me to breakfast."
