I was up all night at hindi ko talaga matanggap ang nangyari kay Leah.
Some nurses went in the room to check up on Leah.
Si Eli naman maya't maya nagigising siguro dahil hindi siya komportable. Who would even be comfortable when you're in a situation like this.
Morning came and so did Tristan. It was 7 in the morning. Ang aga naman ata niya dumating dito. Tristan wag holding paper bags. I guess they're food.
"Good morning." I said and hugged him.
"Good morning, baby." He said.
"I brought you both food." He said at nilapag na ang paper bag sa malapit na table.
Eli nodded at Tristan. Tristan did the same thing.
"Why are you here early in the morning?" I asked at umupo na.
"Bibisita ako dito every morning, noon and night." He said and sat beside me.
"Thank you sa pagkain, Tris." Eli said and started eating.
"Sure." Tristan said and smiled at him.
"Baby, hindi mo naman kailangan pumunta dito sa hospital ng ganito kaaga. And besides, I could buy food for us outside." Sabi ko.
"Its fine. Any updates about Leah?" He asked and looked at Leah.
She's still unconscious though.
"Well, she's still stable. The nurses check up on her every hour or two." I said and yawned.
Kulang ako sa tulog. Nararamdaman ko na yung antok na unti unti akong inaatake.
"You look like you didn't had enough sleep." He said while his attention was at me.
"I couldn't sleep kagabi so I'm up all night." I said.
"You should sleep." He said.
"No its-" Eli cut me off.
"You can sleep now, Viv. Ako na muna magbabantay kay Leah. I had enough sleep thanks to you." He said and smiled.
I just smiled.
"You should go to the company now." I said and looked at Tristan.
"Fine. Get some sleep. You need it. I'll be back at lunch." He said.
"Sure." I said and smiled sweetly.
"I'll go now. Sleep well, baby." He said and kissed my forehead.
As expected, nakatulog nga ako. I had a dream. Leah was there all alone inside a room screaming for help. I can't run towards her. Kahit na ipilit ko gumalaw, I just can't. I was crying and screaming for help too.
"HELP!!!" I heard Leah scream.
I was here standing, not being able to move and so helpless.
"Vivianne!" I heard someone say.
"Wake up!" The same person said.
"LEAH!" I shouted.
"Hey, what happened?" I saw Eli looking so worried.
I looked at Leah, the real one. She's still unconscious.
"What happened?" I heard Eli said.
I felt hot liquid running down my cheeks.
"I had a nightmare." Natatanging nasabi ko.
Eli handed me a pack of tissue.
"Thanks." I said at pinunasan na ang luha tumulo.
"What was your dream, though?" Asked Eli.
"I heard Leah screaming for help. I couldn't move and I was helpless." I said and looked at him.
"That's tragic. Drink some water first." He said.
I looked at my watch and it was quarter to 12 already.
Someone knocked on the door, it was a nurse checking up on Leah.
Moments later, Tristan arrived with food again.
"Are you okay?" Tristan asked at hinawakan ang magkabilang balikat ko.
"Mhm... why?" I asked.
"Eli texted me saying that you were crying in your sleep." He said.
"I had a nightmare. I'm good now." I said and smiled to give me assurance.
"Okay then. Kumain na muna kayo." He said at nagpalabas na ng mga pagkain na binili niya.
"Pwede naman nga ako bumili sa labas, Tan. Nag-abala ka pa." I said.
"Its fine. Kumain nalang muna kayo. I ate before I went here." He said and looked at Leah.
While eating I figured na baka bumili ulit ng pagkain itong si Tristan for dinner later kaya uuwi nalang muna ako para maligo at magluto.
"Eli." I called him.
"Hm?" He asked.
"Can you take care of Leah for a while? Uuwi ako after kumain so I could have my bath and magluluto na din ako for dinner." I explained.
"Sure. Uuwi din ako mamaya pagdating mo. Okay?" He said.
"Sure." I said and smiled.
"Pahatid ako, Tan. If you're busy okay lang." I asked and looked at Tristan.
"Sure thing." He said and smiled.
After eating nagpaalam na ako kay Eli dahil uuwi na muna ako.
"Dun ka uli matutulog later?" Tristan asked nung nakasakay na kami sa sasakyan siya.
"Pinag-iisipan ko pa. May trabaho ako bukas eh. Pero baka nga sa ospital ulit ako matulog." I said and looked at him.
"You could sleep there if you want. Pero, I have no other things to do tomorrow. I could replace you tonight and tomorrow." He said.
"Really?" I asked him.
"Yup." He said and smiled at me for a second.
"Aw! Thanks, Tan!" I said and smiled sweetly at him.
"Anything for you, baby." He said and reached for the back of my hand to kiss it.
Nakarating na kami sa condo. Tan said that he's willing to wait for me. So naligo na ako then nagluto afterwards. It took me an hour and half to finish everything.
Bumalik na kami sa hospital and I told Eli na sila muna ni Tristan magbabantay kay Leah since he's free tonight and tomorrow. Eli agreed.
While eating dinner, my phone rang. It was my cousin, Micah.
"Hello?" I said.
"Vivianne? Hi! How are you?" She said.
"Fine. You?" I asked and smiled.
Micah is my closest cousin. She lives faraway from us but when we're together we're like best friends. Micah and Leah know each other too. They're close to each other.
"I'm good. I heard about what happened to our Leah. I'm planning on going there tomorrow." She said. It made me excited.
"Really? I have work tomorrow though. I might be going here tomorrow night. Sabay na tayo?" I asked her.
"Sige ba! But who will take care of Leah tonight and tomorrow." She asked.
I looked at Eli and Tristan who are talking to each other.
"Leah's boyfriend and Tristan, my boyfriend." I said.
"Hindi mo naman sinabi na may boyfriend ka na pala! Good for you! Tell me the address kung saan tayo magkikita." She said.
I smiled and told her the address of the company.
"Sige. I'll go there at 5 in the afternoon. See you! Love ya!" She said.
"See you! Love you too, Mics!" I said and we both chuckled before ending the call.
"Who was that?" Tristan asked seriously.
"Si Micah. My cousin and Leah's friend." I said.
He just looked at me with doubt in his eyes.
"Do you not have any trust in me, Sir Tristan?" I asked.
"Meron naman po." He said and laughed.
I decided to go home since maaga pa ako bukas. Eli offered to give me a ride since uuwi din siya to take some of his things. I looked at Tan if its okay with him. He nodded and gave me a goodbye kiss.
"Text me when you're home, baby." He said.
"Yes po. Love you!" I said at lumabas na ng room with Eli.
"Anong oras pupunta yung pinsan mo bukas, Viv?" Eli asked while focusing on driving.
"Sabay na kami bukas." I said.
"Sige. By the way, thanks Vivianne." Eli said.
"Huh? Para saan?" I asked confused.
"For taking care of Leah kahit you could still go one dates with Tristan instead." He said and laughed.
"Loko ka talaga kahit kailan. Leah's my best friend and my sister too kahit we're not related by blood." I said.
Nakarating na kami sa condo and I thanked Eli for driving me here.
I texted Tan. I told him na I arrived safely here.
Pumasok na ako sa condo and it saddens me na ako lang mag-isa dito.
I saw a picture with Leah and me in it. We were so happy in the picture. A tear fell down my eye. I hope Leah wakes up fast. I miss her being jolly and cheerful.
We may not be related by blood but she's one of the reasons why I had enough courage to do things I didn't even had plans on doing now.
